I would have thought the number would be closer to 100% since leaving the org. means freedom of thought

Encouragement for new members
by hooberus inthere are alot of new members here, and i just wanted to say that although most here don't believe that the wt is "god's organization" there are many such as myself (i have never been a jw) that believe that the bible is inspired scripture*.
loosing faith in a religious organization does not necessarily mean that you must also loose faith in god.
i have a personal relationship withn the god of the bible and can tell you that he is real and wonderful.

Many questions need to be asked, however, a persons relationship with god is between them and god regardless of what religion one chooses

Even though they have convinced themselves that they are the most reasonable people on earth, the opposite is actually true

Just repeat everything they say as a question with a sarcastic tone, eventually they will go away, you cannot have a reasonable conversation with them

Why Are So Many JWs Ex-Catholic?
by SpannerintheWorks inis it just my imagination, or are a disproportionate of jws ex-catholic?.
were you a catholic before a jw?.
why did you feel that the jw religion was "better" than the "catholic" one?.
-

Many Catholic doctrines are hard to explain so they blindly accept them, which makes converting to a jw easy for them, it's just a new set of teachings that can't be reasonably explained although they are expected to - who said that? I said that.

What if JWs had never been part of your life......?
by Scully inprisca's topic about personal responsibility vs blaming the jws (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/56286/824979/post.ashx#824979) got me to thinking..... where do you think you'd be if the jws and the wts had never been part of your life?how would your life be different from what it is now?what do you think you might have accomplished or done differently without the encumberances of the jws in your life?what kind of relationship would you have with your family?who would you be?.
there are no right or wrong answers, but think about those what-i-want-to-be-when-i-grow-up ideas you had as children and whether those dreams could have become a reality.. .
love, scully

I would not have had to endure a horrible marriage ( which included some of the strangest in-laws I could have possibly ended up with) that I was told only death or adultery could get me out of. Fortunately for me, she took care of the adultery part. But I hated feeling stuck
