i know they "disassociated" from the dpi, but did they also disassociate completely from the un as an ngo?

New Light on the United Nations (U.N.) (Scarlet Beast)

several watchtower publications for the last 50+ years have said that the united nations (u.n.) organization ("the scarlet-colored wild beast" of revelation) would definitely be the organization that will carry out jehovah's judgment on "babylon the great" (false religion), and then, under satan's [gog of magog's] direction, the united nations organization would become "greedy", and try to attack the remaining remnant of the "anointed" jehovah's witnesses and their companions, the "great crowd" of "other sheep", and then jehovah and jesus would destroy the united nations organization, along with everyone else who was not a jehovah's witness.

Wasn't it (New Light) that caught Eve off guard?
Wasn't it (New Light) that transformed itself in order to speak to Eve thru a serpent?
Wasn't it (New Light) that tempted Eve to doubt?
If Eve could not see Satan, then didn't Eve rely on the voice that described a better way?
Don't Jehovah's Witnesses just listen to a voice that tells them there is a better way?
Why do the members have to suffer, when the (New Light) has found out to be wrong?

Isn't it true that the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses are women, who were contacted, or preached to, and then presented this information to the rest of the family.
Isn't it true that the women in the jw organization deserve more recognition, because they do most of the work? Isn't it true that if the women in the jw organization stopped preaching, then the Watchtower would probably close down. Isn't it true that the women in the jw organization do most the work, with the least priviledges? Isn't that discrimination, even to some degree?
Isn't it true that this (New Light) caused a division between Adan and Eve, to the point that Adam blamed Eve and then Eve blamed the serpent? Isn't this same attitude shown today with the Elders, Circuit Overseers, and Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, to the point that none of them are willing to take the blame for their actions?
Isn't it true that this (New Light) is causing divisions between families, friends, and relatives?
Isn't it (New Light) that allows Elders families to get away with about anything in the congregation?
Can you tell me how many minorities are on the governing body?
How many black, oriental, indian, etc, Circuit Overseers have you met?
Didn't this (New Light) contribute to the deaths of Adam and Eve?
Hasn't this (New Light) contributed to the deaths of thousands who were in need of a blood transfusion?
Hasn't this (New Light) caused ones to take their own life?
Is the term (New Light) literal or symbolic?
When did this (New Light) begin, and when did the (Old Light) end?
Was it (New Light) that directed the governing body to become members of the United Nations?
Does (New Light) direct the Watchtower Society to protect pedophiles?
If Jesus Christ was resurrected as a spirit and immeadiately went to heaven, who authorized his return to be with his disciples? If Jesus left heaven without authorization from Jehovah, then he would have been as guilty as the fallen angels of Noah's day. Can you show me in the New World Translation where and when Jesus was authorized to do so?
If Jesus was authorized to do so, then would this not be his second presence, instead of the 1914 theory?
Did this (New Light) come from Jehovah, Jesus, or the governing body during the years of 1914 thru 1918? If the answer is any of the above, then this would mean there is no harmony, but only mass confusion.
If Jehovah does not change, and is certainly not a God of confusion, then why does (New Light) constantly change to the degree that by the time one understands it, it then a year later is described as (Old Light?)
Isn't it true that this (New Light) changes or transforms?
Isn't this one of the descriptions of Satan?
If Jesus is Michael or an angel, and the Watchtower teaches that Jesus created (all other things), can you show me where Jehovah authorized an angel to Create anything? Does this mean there are two creators? Two God's?
Isn't it true that the term(New Light) began when Watchtower leaders were dabbling in the occult?
Didn't Jesus say that he would send the (Holy Spirit) to direct his faithful followers? If so, can you think of a light newer or brighter?
If you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and are reading this thread, don't you wonder who the Watchtower will say is the Higher Authorities, come next year? If the Watchtower Society felt that even the news on tv was too violent for christians, and (New Light) commanded them to direct you not to watch tv anymore, would you obey the directions of (New Light?)

When searching for the definition of the word (volunteer) my dictionary defines this word as: One who serves or acts of his or her (own free will). To offer or give of one's (own accord).
Starting from the very beginning of the Organized to Accomplish our Ministry Book, chapter 2 page 12, the main heading there reads: Benefiting from Theocratic (Subjection.) The dictionary defines the word subjection as follows: Under the authority, rule, or power (of another). Liable, Dependent, an individualas an object of study or experiment, to gain control over.
These descriptions, or meanings certainly do not have the flavor of (own free will).
Taking only the subject of ministry or field service, these are some of the key words used by the Watchtower Society, to maintain control of those it claims are (volunteers). Taken from Organized Book.
Page 127---As dedicated servants of God, bearing his name, we are (under obligation) to reflect Jehovah's glory in all that we say and do.
Page 128---Wicked influences from the world around us and our own sinful tendencies make things difficult at times. All of this (requires) a spiritual fight on our part.
Page 96----Dedicated Christians have a (personal responsibility) to share the good news with others.
Page 94----There are many opportunities that present themselves, but individually we (must) be alert to turn ordinary conversation into a witness.
Page 95---Of course, if you have a personal territory it will be (your responsibility) to get in touch with as many people in that territory as you can.
Page 97----From the time you begin conducting a home Bible study with an interested person, (encourage) him to speak with others about what he is learning from the Bible. He could be (urged) to speak with relatives, friends, work associates and others on an informal basis.
Page 98----So whereas (you will certainly) want to help your Bible students to become publishers of the good news, and to report field service to the congregation even before baptism, caution (must) be exercised when inviting them out in field service for the first time.
Page 99----Those who share with Jehovah's Witnesses in their activity (must) be leading a life that harmonizes with these scriptural (requirements).
Page 104--Congregation publishers are encouraged likewise to put Kingdom interests first and (exert)themselves in the ministry to accomplish all that they can in the field according to their individual circumstances.
Page 106--It may (move him) toward making even greater efforts to serve Jehovah and to turn in field service reports regularly each month.
Page 107--At times reports may indicate that particular attention needs to be given to certain aspects of our ministry. (Encouragement) may be needed or it could be that there (are problems to be solved).
Page 109--We do not know what (final report) Jehovah (will request) from his dedicated people when it comes to making a (permanent record) of the grand preaching work accomplished during the time of the end in fullfillment of Matthew 24:14.
Page 110--But will we be found faithful in having discharged our (responsibility) to share in the ministry at hand?
Page 111--What Jehovah (requires) of each one of his dedicated servants was expressed by Jesus.......
Page 111--As soon as an individual (qualifies as an approved associate) of the congregation.........
Page 113--A pioneer publisher of the good news (must) be an exemplary baptized Christian.
Page 114--To qualify for appointment as a regular pioneer you (must) currently be in a position to reach the yearly field service (quota) of 1,000 hours.
Page 115--To qualify for missionary work a person (must be) between the ages of 21 and 40 and have good physical health.......
The list could go on and on. I have only quoted from a few pages of the book, so you can imagine how many commanding, controlling, phrases the entire book must have.
Jehovah's Witnesses are not Volunteers, they are victims.

Keeping the 144,000 in mind, I read the following Watchtower information.
Go to: www.watchtower.org Go down to the bottom of the page to the word future. Click on that. Then on the next thread click on(Will men ever be equal?) You will see a heading entitled (The problems of class distinction) scroll down to the bottom and click on the arrow for the next page. There you will see the heading(Is a classless society really possible?) Scroll down to(Before God All Men Are Equal).
Please note these statements the Watchtower makes, and while your doing so, try to keep the 144,000 in mind.
Watchtower statements:
Are some groups of humans inherently SUPERIOR to other groups? Not in God's eyes. The Bible says: "(God) made out of one man every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth.
All humans are related, and before God all are EQUAL.
Remember, too, that when a person dies, all pretensions that he is SUPERIOR to others vanish.
Wise men must die; stupid men, brutish men, ALL perish.
Whether we are KINGS or slaves, these inspired words hold true for ALL of us.
The Creator has NOT given more consideration to the noble one than to the lowly one, for ALL of them are the work of his hands.
The next page states:
We are ALL born equal in God's eyes, and we ALL end up equal in death. How futile, then, to promote one group of people over another during our short lifetime.
To show that NONE of his followers should elevate themselves above fellow believers, Jesus said You, do not call me Rabbi, for one is your teacher, whereas all are your brothers.
Did early christians view themselves as equal? Those who got the sense of Jesus' teaching did.
Nobody was encouraged to view himself as being better than others.
Some may say that the ideal of equality is contradicted by the fact that in pre-Christian times God made Israel his special nation. They may claim that this is an example of racial superiority, but that is not so. It is true that the Israelites, as descendants of Abraham, enjoyed a special relationship with God and WERE used as the CHANNEL for divine revelations. But the purpose of this was not to put them on a pedestal. Rather, it was in order that all nations would be.
The next, page 4 states: (please notice words used in the past tense)
This organization of Christians who WERE anointed by holy spirit WAS called "the Israel of God," and it proved to be the channel through which those blessings would come.
Some members of that congregation needed educating in the matter of equality.
You are ALL, in fact sons of God through your faith in Christ Jesus. For ALL of you who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither male nor female; for you are ALL one person in union with Christ Jesus.
Now here is the real kicker: Under (A Classless People Today) The Watchtower states:
Jehovah's Witnesses today try to live according to Scriptural principles. They recognize that social classes have no meaning in the eyes of God. Thus, they have no clergy/laity division, and they are not segregated according to skin color or wealth.
The word clergy in the dictionary is defined as: A body of persons ordained for religious service.
A friend who E-mailed me about this article, has an aunt who really feels that she is of the anointed. But when she keeps reading articles that confuse her understanding, then some who would claim to be anointed, are too afraid to, because they feel that the numbers are supposed to be dropping, and if they were to stand and claim that they are anointed, they feel they will be shunned.
Most folks would read this article and feel that it is only speaking about racial issues, but to others who feel that they are suppose to get a deeper meaning from the Watchtower articles, well then it could mean a whole lot more to them.
Do you think the Watchtower is discouraging people from claiming to be of the anointed? Do you think that some people who think they are anointed, are to afraid to make the claim, for fear of being shunned?

Old literature?
by asleif_dufansdottir inwe're moving, and have a couple of boxes of literature from the late 80's and early 90's in the basement.
i hate to just throw away books (even jw books), but i'm certainly not going to send it somewhere where it might mislead more people.
(giving to somebody to store them until the society changes its tune enough for them to be useful?
