I believe the posessed coolers have the potential of tripping the elderly. They gotta keep the old ones alive, since they have bills with large numbers on them. Besides, Jehovah will protect his people from material food poisoning as long as they take in the spiritual food.

Assembly fun....Final notes.
by integ ina couple of things i forgot to mention... -it would not be "wise" to have open bars at witness wedding receptions.. -dating non-witnesses like going to the morgue to find a mate.
(this was mentioned at the latest circuit assembly as well).. -there are "deplorable conditions" in christendom...not in jah's org.. -we reflect the glory of god by preaching.. -(this is a doosy, and an actual statement made by the speaker)..just as jesus was hated by the world, but was perfect, so too is jehovahs' organization.

Depression, Suicide, Abusive Parents
by kitties_and_horses_oh_my! inthis is my first time posting...i've been lurking for awhile.
i "faded away" in september and my mental health has greatly improved, although i still struggle with a somewhat-controlled eating disorder.
i have a long history of mental health problems, from the time i was about 20. i was raised "in the truth" and my parents were very emotionally/verbally abusive.

Hi Francois! Nosferatu I believe is french for Vampire. It's also the title of a Blue Oyster Cult song.
Yeah, my mother tells me "I only hit you once", and she told me this absolutely wonderful story about how she perfectly disciplined me. She told me "I used to do that to [my brother], but when I came into the Truth, I learned better". I couldn't believe she had the nerve to tell me this to my face. She learned the "Truth" when I was 5, she stopped hitting me when I was 15.
Thank you for your recommendation! I'll definately look into the book. I've already ordered "In Sheep's Clothing" to help me understand my father. I love self-improvement :)

Hi Kittens!
Just a brief summary of what I've gone through, my mother was very abusive toward me. Whenever her temper would flare up, I was the punching bag. I got beaten a lot for things that I didn't cause. I was beaten for money problems, my mother's marriage problems, you name it.
When I entered grade 7, the kids would pick on me and beat up on me. I was told that fighting is wrong in Jehovah's eyes, so I never stood up for myself. I would pray and pray, and try to put my "burden" upon Jehovah, but things got worse. My nerves were shot. On my way to school, I would start shaking. At my locker, I would start shaking, wondering who was going to sneak up behind me and bash me in the head with a hardcover text book. The same happened in class. It went on every day. I was picked on to the point I had tears in my eyes, and I would get picked on for that. I was forced to wear ugly hand-me-downs, because Jehovah's people were supposed to stand out. I contemplated suicide many times.
Now that I'm 25, I realize that my mother's emotional problems are due to her upbringing. Sadly, the Watchtower discourages people from getting professional help. She is still incredibly bitter from her first marriage, and her sexually abusive father. The Watchtower Society covers all the problems with a blanket of Watchtower magazines to hide the problems.
I would love to forgive my mother, but I can't unless she admits to what she's done to me. I've tried confronting her about the beatings, but she denies they ever happened.
Anyway, welcome to your journey into the future. This is your chance to make your life better, take full advantage of it!

Lady Lee, My fellow Winnipegger! I myself am in the middle of writing an autobiography, except I'm not going to have it published. I'm going to put it up for free downloading on the internet.
Keep us up to date on how it's going, and I'll be sure to buy a copy
And we are in desperate need of a Meetup! I have an ex-jw friend who doesn't have access to the internet, and I'll bring him along if we finally succeed with a meetup.

Enbalmed, I really feel for ya. I know what it's like being a teenager being forced to go to meetings. The stress from that alone is difficult to deal with, and the pressure from the others in the congregation to "do more in the truth" is a pain in the ass.
Keep your eyes on the prize. In 2 years you'll be free and you'll be able to discover what it's like to live a normal life. Until then, do the best you can to avoid the meetings and field service. Some excellent suggestions were already given. I used to pretend I was loaded down with homework on weeknights. As for Sundays, it was rare that I got out of those meetings. A part time job would be an excellent way to get out of it. Even if you're not working, sneak out in your uniform, and go see a movie with some nice worldly people.
Hang in there Enbalmed, your youth may be wasted away, but you have lots of adulthood left to live! When you finally reach that stage, live it to your fullest ability!

-It would not be "wise" to have open bars at Witness wedding receptions.
I'll tell you something, I remember all the "Witness Parties" I went to. They were boring. I remember some wedding receptions playing nothing but dreaded Kingdom Songs. Alcohol would have made those parties so much more amusing.
-Dating non-witnesses like going to the morgue to find a mate.(This was mentioned at the latest circuit assembly as well).
Bullshit. When you're dating a Witness, it's unwise to hold hands and kiss, it's wrong to french kiss, it's wrong to touch each other, it's a disfellowshipping offense to get naked and screw. Now tell me, who's really from the morgue?
-(This is a doosy, and an actual statement made by the speaker)..Just as Jesus was hated by the world, but was Perfect, so too is Jehovahs' Organization. (Yes he actually said this).
ROTFLMFAO!!! If this is true, I'm one of the anointed. Bring on the Vino and Vegetable Thins!
-3:05 Sat. "Be liberal, ready to share". It was brought out that we should give to Jehovah "our valuable things"....This not only includes our TIME, but also our material things. We were reminded that we can sign over our wills and create living trusts, and also deed any property we have to the Society, if we should pass on before the end of the system.
And what's Jehovah going to give back to me? A thank-you note? F*** you WTS.
-4:10 Sat. "Glorify God with one mouth." We must not try to come up with our own thoughts on matters...Follow the direction of the Slave etc. etc.
And Moses said to Jehovah, "Oh lord, Program me any way you wish!"
-The remainder of the day was spent exhorting the hapless delegates to do more in the ministry. Followed by a song "of praise" and a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG prayer. Followed by the obligatory applause.
Oh yeah! That's when the brother saying the prayer thanks Jehovah for each and every person who made it to the convention from out of town, all the names are mentioned.

recommend a book
by DanTheMan inany book that you like.. i am particularly interested in reading some good non-fiction.. crisis of conscience tops my recommendations, i think it is one of the best books i've ever read.
but you don't have to recommend apostate books.. currently i am enjoying dale carnegie's how to win friends and influence people.
i am enjoying it and trying to take the advice to heart - namely, don't be so negative!.

OOOOoooohh! My area of expertice! Dan, I was in a total shit situation at one point when my ex-fiance left me. I'll tell you right now, the best information is free. Check out http://www.sosuave.com. If you go to the forum, you'll find the "Don Juan Bible". Give it a full read, it's excellent stuff. My username over there is Bungo Pony. Last time I checked, I was the 4th top poster over there, so I know my stuff. If you've got a question you want answered, send me a PM. Trust me, this place will set you on the right track, and you'll have more women than you've ever dreamed of. Might want to try the DJ Bootcamp.
You may also want to check out the Book of Shuma Gora, and the Seduction Library. If you send me a PM, I'll email it to you. It's free as well, but me sending it to you will save you the hassle of signing up with Yahoo.

Name Things That You Can't Do If You Are A Witness
by minimus inthere are so many things that you can't do if you are one of jehovah's witnesses.
for example, you can't salute the flag or stand for the national anthem.
can you think of different things you can't do if you're a witness??

Sounds to me like you're making up the lost time for relaxation. Hell, I don't blame you! I agree with jgnat, self-discovery is something excellent to look into. You'll learn a lot about yourself, and you'll end up learning a lot about how your upbringing has affected your life. Try to conquer your fears, improve on areas of your personality that you've always had a problem with, and I guarantee you'll get more fulfillment out of that than a boring paradise earth.
