No, it wasn't kid's toothpaste - I think it was called Mentadent P not Pepsadent after all. I think it was meant to be cinnamon flavour or something. *Foul*!

by CountryGuy ini need your advice.... i've used pepsodent since i was a little boy.
however, since i have stopped shopping at walmart, i am having trouble finding it now.

favourite games to play as a child during boring meetings
by Surfacing inmy parents were both very strict, and i wasn't allowed any toys at the hall.
my rations included a copy of my book of bible stories, and a pen and note pad.
my parents were strict to the point of not allowing me to draw pictures, i had to "take notes".

But my favorite was seeing how long I could hold my breath. I would use my watch to time myself - I actually became pretty good.
I forgot about that one! I used to do that too. -

What grammatical errors bug you the most?
by poppers infor me it's the use of : .
it's as a possessive - it's means "it is", so if you don't want to say "it is" don't use the apostrophe.
there are others that bug me but this one is the worst.

Prolly
Aaaarrrrgh! Me too!
I cannot abide it when people use billions of commas everywhere, like this:
LOL,,,,,we went to the park today,,,,did you know there is a new playground? we bought icecream but the kids dropped them and cried,,,,,and the dog pooed right in the middle of the bowling green,,,,what a day.
It's usually a sure sign the writer is a complete and utter mentalist and ought to be avoided at all costs. (Apologies if anyone here does it! :)) -

Colgate Total Plus Whitening. We get ours at a cheapo shop (accredited by the South African Dental Association :)). I can't stand that bright pink toothpaste that tastes of *evil* - is that Pepsodent?

"Should OF" sends me into a murderous rage, as do "COULD care less", "apple's" and " "free" ".
Terry - I use semicolons!
People's problem with its/it's is how we write possessives: "the dog's" "the man's" "Emily's" - "it's" *seems* perfectly reasonable. I can see "it's" eventually becoming acceptable. -

Gawd I hate them...
by Princess inthe church behind our house of course.
at 3:30am i wake suddenly to a strange humming sound that gets louder and louder until its a low roar.
i got up and looked out the window to see a street cleaner cleaning the parking lot at the church.

Invite a load of Satanists round to have a loud gathering in your garden during their service.
Do Satanists get up early enough on a Sunday morning? -

I counted tiles, bit my nails, slept, looked at other pages of the book/magazine, tightened my watch strap to make my hand go to sleep, took my shoes and/or socks off, tried to guess when a minute (or any length of time) had passed, watched people, doodled, "played" films/TV and imaginary storylines in my head, wrote notes and went to the loo/kitchen as frequently as my mum would let me.
But most of the time I concentrated and answered up. :( -

Russian seige over
by glitter init's over - russian troops stormed the building after 2 militants blew themselves up.. .
the news is saying the monsters took the children's clothes away when they asked for water, soaked them in water and threw the back at them and told them to suck on their clothes - so the kids who are outside are all in their pants or are naked.
they refused to give them water, food, blankets and medicine when the army and negotiators asked for them to be brought in.. .

I'm not *stupid* you know - I *know* what was going on in Chechnya, I sympathize with the Chechens, I understand that fighting fire with fire only makes the situation worse - I'm not saying they should do that. But backing down to terrorism does no good - the UK *negotiated* with the IRA but the IRA don't have what they wanted.
Did these children rape the women? Did these teachers? If the militants want a fight then they should have a fair one with those who have actually wronged them. -

Yesterday I read a freed mother went back in to be with her children who were still held captive. What a brave loving woman.
200 wounded are in hospital.
The roof collapsed.
The fighting is still going on and not all of the hostages are out.
The Russian army commit atrocities against the Chechens, but the militants have shown themselves to be absolutely ruthless and cowardly - they have got attention for their cause, see how much sympathy they get now, they've surely lost their support.
I hope the survivors get the best mental health care available - especially the kids, how are these kids ever going to be able to set foot in a school again?!
