if it's true that the society is starting a special campaign against "false religion", we may have them at our mercy!!!!!!!!!.

think about it: if they are stupid enough to print some cheap tract that shows churches and 'stars of david' as 'false religion', we may.

be able to cause enormous trouble by sending these to all public agencies dealing with intolerance and prejudice.. more than that, by posing as witnesses, these tracts may be sent to various people and groups with accompanying letters.

yes, many will remember the panorama programme shown on channel 4 (uk) a few years ago.

the one that highlighted the child abuse scandal and the disgusting manner in which the borg deals with it.

then when the letter was read out to the congregations a week or so later addressing this issue by dismissing the programme by simply saying that two witnesses were needed before a person could make an accusation.

Are we talking about the same programme? The Panorama I watched on UK tv featured a family from Scotland, not USA. There was the Scottish girl, the two American girls, and an English bloke who were featured in the episode.

i noticed that some of the members in the church are giving me gifts... for no apparent reason.

are they just nice, or do they do this to keep me in the church.

also, if i hear the word "the truth" one more time... ahhh... i keep hearing it left and right... it seems weird to hear.

how dumb and pathetic.. no extra training should be necessary for even slightly trained and disciplined soldiers.

i guess it is for some of the rabble that the us call "troops" though.. of course the real problem is not just those on the ground that have committed the latest attrocity.

it is the chain of command that tried to cover it up and all the way up to the president who sanctions bombing of civilian targets with nothing more than rumour for "intelligence".. from now on america, you are on your own.

America = American government (I've heard it argued that when nutter Muslims shriek "Death to America!" they mean the destruction of values and institutions that make America *America* rather than killing actual families.... still vile though.)
You = You government
Us/We = our government

It's the same with sporting events, I could say "We beat Germany 5-1" and nobody in England would think it was a strange turn of phrase... they'd know I didn't mean I was in the team! :)

I think the You/We/Us could *perhaps* be a misunderstanding based on cultural differences.

Bill Clinton couldn't have been kept in power because he'd already served 2 terms. He bombed the heck out of Iraq too during his time, one time was Christmas 1998 when Monica Lewinsky was in the news IIRC - what a fantastic coincidence.

By the way, just because Bush is a bloodthirsty idiot, doesn't mean the all of the American people support him; we aren't sheep.

I didn't say Americans were. Just that the British aren't.

Incidentally, and more OT - I read an article online *somewhere* last week that it's like *80%* of troops polled in Iraq that think Saddam was behind 9/11... incredible, and incredibly sad.

Do any of you Brits realize how many people did NOT vote for Bush?

Um, I think you're referring to my post, and if you are, thank you for calling me an idiot, very kind of you.

Sorry, it's just that I read that "reasoning" over and over again. No I don't imagine that anything like a majority of Americans believe in the war either now or from the beginning. I'm sure we agree that "My country allegedly x but your country did y and z!" is tiresome and nonsensical. :)
