The first numbers on a barcode specify what country made the product. Israel's number is 729.
Fresh produce will have "Product of Israel" on it just like other countries are marked.

Boycotting Israel
by Crumpet ini see that quite a few are following the dreadful attacks in lebanon.
today i went swimming to cool off with mr c and we were discussing what ways we could make our disapproval and anger at israels actions felt, besides being human shields.
(mr c reckons i'm big enough to stop one missile, but would be pretty useless after that.

Which flavor of "Christendom" did you think was most demonized? (when a JW)
by Wasanelder Once ini used to feel it was the catholic religion because of all its rituals.
then i felt it was the latter day saints with all thier "personal testimony" and "prophet" doctrines.
finally, after reading about the watchtower's history i've settled on the view that they are all equal.. how did you feel about it when you were a witnoid?.

My dad was an atheist, but his local boozer was a "family social club" owned by a CofE church at the end of the road where I was Christened before mum became a dub. So we used to go there every Saturday night and Sunday lunchtime when I was a kid (when the meeting was in the afternoon at least, when it was in the morning dad used to put us on he bus and mum met us in town near the KH).
When the church service ended, the Vicar, his wife, and members of the congregation always used to stop by for a drink. I was quite suspicious and curious about what went on in the church and whether people from Christendom knew they were worshipping the devil.
In my imagination, once the service began, the doors would be bolted and the cross would swing upside down and they would pray to Satan instead of Jehovah! -

September KM - 70 alterations in Revelation Climax Book
by dozy ini can't find a thread on this subject yet - if there is one , please delete this one.. the september kingdom ministry has a 4 page insert detailing the 70 alterations in the revelation climax book which is due to be studied at the book study shortly.
i'll provide scans if anyone is interested.. i will leave it up to more experienced analysts to examine the reasons for specific changes , but just a few brief observations for now:.
p32 box - "they were completely exonerated" changed to "charges against them were dropped" - interesting change of terminology for the 1918 watchtower eight.

6 million JWs sitting down and noting alterations in a book they studied 3 times already... wow.
I have an optimistic feeling that deciding to re-study (even partially) this publication might well be one of the WTS's dumbest moves ever. -

I corinthians chapter 11 verse 17 onwards???
by evergreen inok, i was reading this chapter today in my back garden and was astounded at what i had just read.
every year as long as i have been a witness vs 28 is mentioned that a man should examine himself under scutiny before eating the bread and drinking the wine.
obviously implying that only the anointed are to partake of the emblems etc.

I'm not convinced that the WTS anointed headcount is reliable, and I have no idea how many truely anointed people there are on earth today.
OK then, do you really think it's feasible that there have only ever been 144,000 people in the New Covenant? -

The Little Flock and Other Sheep are distinctly seperate groups, and although I'm not convinced that the Annointed were called exclusively first, I do believe the Annointed are the only ones Jesus made a 'covenant for a kingdom' and should be eating at the memorial.
So despite almost 2000 years of good people with genuine Christian faith, the early Christian days of mass baptisms, steadfastness in the face of really awful persecution, etc, you think it's even *feasible* that there are still enough spots left in heaven for 8/9,000 people to be the only living annointed? -

Just because we fooled you shouldn't stop you from fooling your kids!
by slimboyfat inparents are naturally concerned that their children not make the same mistakes they did.
the society seem to be worried about the power of this impulse to protect one's children.
page 161 of the new book live with jehovah's day in mind reads:a dampening of our expectation of jehovah's great day could reveal itself in the advice we give to our children or to others.

A little old JW lady popped round yesterday and it's obvious this issue is very painful for her. She even said she wouldn't be a JW were it not for the resurrection, and that she feels conflicted that they tell her that her husband will not be her husband anymore - but then guilt her by saying "How do you think your husband would feel if he wakes up in the New System and you are not there?".
What mean bastards doing this to a 90-odd-year-old widow.
Thanks for posting this thread - I will definitely use the Lazarus point. -

Incidentally, the girl with brown hair on the red background appeared in a Young People Ask later that year. I think the cover gives the impression that all the kids died for the WTS (a sort of peer pressure by saying "*All* these put God first, so you had better!"), but at least *one* didn't - unless they recycled a dead lass's pic for the later article.
