Do you seriously think a *faithful*, *current* JW would *ever* use "Christ on a bike!" as an expression of surprise? Or *any* faithful Christian for that matter?
I don't believe in the Bible.
We're mostly ex-JWs here - the JW-only boards don't let just anyone post, only current JWs who can answer "security" questions - and you certainly wouldn't convert anyone on one because they each have their "little brown book of clever answers to tricky questions" - aka "Reasoning from the Scriptures" - to argue back with.

I used to say "oh sugar!" instead of "oh shit!" and I wasn't even allowed to say crap, so would often rescue myself by saying "that's cr..ubbish!!" -

How many believe in a literal, firey hell that God will damn people to?
by AlmostAtheist indo you truly believe that there is a place/state/condition that god will forever banish some people to, along the lines of the hell concept?
only the "really bad", the "bad", or even the "not as good as they should be"?.
(this came to mind when i saw the "jews in hell" thread.

Vigil for my daughter, please.
by outnfree inas mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.
we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).
surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!

What was your turning point?

for me, it was after watching the video, "jehovah's witnesses; a non-prophet organization," and the point on how the org puts itself in a place between jesus and mankind.
a position which does not exist scripturally.

How did you brutally destroy your WT publications?
by Nosferatu inthe only wt publication i brutally destroyed was a brand new copy of the revalation book.
i was so frustrated with the religion that i ripped the goddam thing into a hundred pieces.
it was a great way to take my anger out on it.. years later when i was dating this one girl, she had a copy of that same stupid book.

If I knew where my last blood-card was, I'd love to destroy it. I can't destroy books and mags cos they are mum's but I tried to burn my red "Youth" book and I couldn't get it to catch light (ooooohhhh) with a match, so I just threw it out.
