UK & IRELAND MAP
by ballistic ini had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).
(and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).
anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.

The left behind series,a fresh look at 144,000?
by ko38 in.
the left behind series of books i have found to be a great read.these are written by dr.tim lahaye and jerryb.jenkins.they are fiction to the point that they have characters and fictional situations.however i cannot help but feel that theyre discription and interpretation of revelation and the 144,000 may be correct.. in their series they feature a rapture of all the faithful saints before any of the other signs(horsemen)start.the writing is fantastic and filled with action and drama.. there are 12 books in the series, all guaranteed to be the best fiction an ex jw could ask for.however, they showcase the 144,000 as being the orthadox jews that convert to christ after the great tribulation has already begun.this was achieved by first 2 witnesses sent by christ to preach at the wailing wall in israel.these 2 spread a message that sounds true in the hearts of hundreds and thousands of orthadox jews that come to listen to them as they are able to kill would be snipers and those trying to do them harm with just a look or fire from their mouths.. is it possible to believe that the 144,000 will be chosen after the beginning of the start of the end?i for one see it as possible.anyway these books are a must read for those who want to relax and enjoy a good story.if they do not make you think then you are an athiest.they discribe (fiction) the anti christ and a group of charachters that know his identity when the rest of the population are unaware.. anyone who has read the series as well please comment on your feelings of 144,000,and if you thought it was a very good read.

The first "Left Behind" book is laugh-out-loud funny - it's hard to believe it's not a parody.
Appallingly written, ridiculously idiotic characters and stupid ideas: give you a clue, it all kicks off because *Ethiopia* nuke Israel after an Israeli scientist develops a method of growing plants in sand... making Israel the richest country on Earth... LOL! -

he'll sacrfafice to Jehovah.....get this....."the first thing that comes out of his house".
Even the cursed Beast only required that the old man gave him the first thing that greeted him when he returned home with his life spared after stealing the Beast's roses. And that Beauty got herself a fairytale happy ending.
Are there any other fairytales inspired by stories in the Bible? Apart from the whole lot being a fairytale of course! :) -

...you're never quite sure if it's OK to have posters of TV/movie stars or singers up on your wall or if it's "idolatry".
...you don't even get invited to birthday parties anymore as your friends all *know* you can't go.
...you still wear cotton knee-socks.
...you've never wore a pair of name-brand trainers (sneakers) because you only "need" school/meeting shoes.
...you don't got into R.E. but instead of *messing about* in the library for a double lesson, out come your Bible, bookstudy book, Watchtower and Young People Ask.
...your bag gets inspected when you come home from school. -

GENEOLOGY OF JESUS
by Mary ini was doing some research for one of my courses and i discovered that the geneology of jesus, outlined in matthew chapter 1 and luke chapter 3, are different.
does anyone know why?
-
glitter
I don't buy this "Mary's geneology" BS that people who insist the Bible is true put forward - otherwise if it was *meant* to be Mary wouldn't the translators put "son of Mary, daughter of Heli, son of Matthat etc" or whatever and have a footnote?
The "as was supposed" bit is because Joseph was bringing him up - it's what the neighbours of the family would have thought. But if he's only through David through his "dad" then is he *really* decended from David? Why would they even list it through Joseph *at all*??
Elsewhere - brilliant chart, thanks. -

Dunno about Dad's Army but "We're Jehovah's Witnesses" turns neatly into the them from "Dambusters" if you hum it.
"Myriads and Myriads of Brothers" is "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer".
And one that's going on about gathering in the harvest or something is "I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts".
I think there was a thread about this years ago where I was reminded of some of these and discovered some others.
I never heard about them being written by jailed brothers before - which ones?
(My site seems to be down at the moment - must be my craptastic free host, should be OK later)! -

When eyes of blind ones see again
And ears of deaf ones hear again'''bla bla''
If you keep your eyes on the prize!
Also known as "Some Day My Prince Will Come" from Disney's "Snow White"! And that one that starts
"Because Jehovah Created
The Universe so grand
To Him belong the earth and sky
The works of His own hand"
is "When Irish Eyes are smiling".
Noticing that kind of stuff is a hobby of mine: http://www.soundalikes.com/
linking arms on a bowling night out and Singing/shouting the song 'We're Jehovah's Witnesses' all around the bowling car park.
That's priceless!!
