Wrong again. Any communication with God is a form of prayer, in fact any form of service or worship to him can broadly be described as a type of prayer. He even hears the silent prayer of our heart.

More SOONerism and NEARism by the Borg mouthpiece.
Count the number of times we have heard that the end is SOON and NEAR since the Watchtower started.
The carrot is well and truly hanging over the donkey still...

A little history on the Bible
by gumby init's always intresting to hear the answers you get from people about how and when the bible was formed.
many minds go only as far as believing it was simply a compilation of god ordained books that we have to this day.
below is just a small bit of information that many may not be familiar with.

The seductive trap of Higher Criticism is much like the theory of evolution. It allows one to be free of moral responsibility to God, or any organisation claiming to represent him. So the atheists and higher critics can feel safe and snug fornicating, adulterating, or doing whatever they want to indulge in, deciding for themselves what is right and wrong...the fundamental free will issue raised in the Garden of Eden. Satan's no fool and he will employ the highest intellects and minds to try to convince faithful ones that they have no basis for their faith at all. Higher Criticism in all it's gross manifestations is one of the foremost example of that.

1918 or 1919? Ahhh...what's 1 year between friends.
The whole point is that Christ never returned to inspect anything in 1918 or 1919. It's a ridiculous proposition, as e-watchman.com dismantles so well.
His coming to inspect the spiritual temple is still a future event....

Jehovah's Witnesses withou Hope?
by admiral_palsey in-under the old covenant animal blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins.
heb 9:19,20 for when every commandment of the law had been declared by moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, "this is the blood of the covenant which god commanded you.
heb 13:11 for the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.

An unreasonable and faulty conclusion. Do you dislike JW's so much that you would judge they have no hope at all???
You are taking a far too narrow view, and ignoring plenty of relevant scriptures and the broader scriptural teaching.
It is the redemption value of Christ's death presented to God as a ransom that allows ANYONE to have forgiveness of sins.
His blood is not the new covenant. He said it was the drinking of the Cup which created the New Covenant, which merely symbolises his shed blood which was to be poured out on their behalf. The New Covenant Jesus concluded was for a Kingdom, not for forgiveness of sins. It was with those to be born again of holy spirit to be adopted as heirs, to rule in the heavenly Kingdom. Just because not everyone is in that Covenant doesn't mean they cannot gain the benefit of Christ's having died "..so that EVERYONE exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life."
That means anyone, Jehovah's Witness, adopted as an heir, or not.

The Idiocy of the Universal Sovreignty Issue
by Black Man indoes anyone else have trouble processing the logic behind the wts issue of universal sovreignty?
why empower satan to make claims and give him the time and circumstances to prove his claims?
why have a bet between 2 people decide the fate of the universe?

Amazing! Look at all the lurking God and bible haters my comments brought out of the woodwork.
Yahweh is so evil, he lets people die and doesn't help us, he is so selfish, he kills women and children, how dare him not set that brat Satan right when we think he should have, the bible contradicts itself, blah blah....oh spare me.
Stop portraying your petty warped moral judgements onto the creator of the universe himself!!!
It's amazing how many on this forum have absolutely no faith in God or the Bible at all, and are just out to condemn and criticise any expression of traditional christianity at all. I'd wager that more than half of contributors to this site, and 90% on this thread, have never been JW's or actively associated with them at all. If they were ex-JW's, then talk about returning to the vomit.
If you've so lost faith in God and anything spiritual, then do something drastic to snap your little black hearts out it. I suggest you get into the darkest occult, learn hypnotism, learn black magic chants and symbols, go to a seance and invite the demons into your life, buy a ouija board and watch the dial move. You'll soon realise to your horror that there is a spirit world, and you'll soon be looking to God again for help. Go on I dare you all, take a trip on the dark side, you know you are just on the border of it anyway. Or are u too chicken! I bet you are. Just content to remain in your smug little deluded world of having written off Jehovah, his Christ, and his inspired word > then do so at your peril.
I know what I believe. Good luck to the rest of the closet atheists and God haters on this thread...you're gonna need all the luck you can get.

I think the issues are real and are there, just as the Society have explained them. They are only saying what the bible reveals. I think to question these fundamental issues is to cast doubt on whether God in fact exists, whether the bible is inspired or not (a story, you say?), whether the Devil is real. Your comments tell me you are struggling with these things also. Perhaps you need to answer those questions for yourself once and for all before you can understand the real issue of why does god allow wickedness.
You are also casting aspersions on God's character, implying that he should have done something about it all long ago. This is a small-minded attitude. How dangerous for someone to think like this, to dare question the Almighty Creator himself, who's ways and thoughts are higher than ours as the heavens are higher than the earth. I'm reminded of the scripture where it says 'who can point their finger at him and ask 'what have you been doing'". This is the slippery slope of foolish pride and rebellion of a dark heart craving independence from God control in any form at all.
It's all about free will, and why we should do things God's way, or just our way. It gets to the core of what life's meaning is all about. Just why does God (assuming you really believe in him!) allow wickedness to exist? Why has he not stepped in until now? There must be reasons and answers to such profound questions, and yes the bible answers them. The Society, while wrong on many things, have got these prime things right, and I think someone is throwing the baby out with the water to question all this.
I have no problem at all with the WBTS's teachings on these things, and in fact instead of knocking them I think these issues they bring to light are part of the few central beliefs they have spot on. Thank you early bible students and JW's for that at least. Thank Jehovah for telling us life's meaning in his holy Word the bible, and for giving us purpose and a hope for the future.

This puts elders in the same category as any common priest of Christendom. You visit the priest to confess secret sins, and the priest is not required to divulge anything, even the most heinous crimes, just like client-confidentiality a lawyer has with his client. Does this mean the elders and the Organisation is becoming absorbed into Christendom?
How can an elder get around such a moral dilemma? How can they live with their own conscience? If I was an elder I would immediately step down if someone confessed to me they have molested a child and yet I was not supposed to tell the police, and then I would go tell the police.
