Yes, you are right, but that like telling someone who got stabbed that they could have also been shot. Sure, thats true, but I just got stabbed, so can I get to a hospital and deal with problem i got before it kills me?

by smiddy inwe think we were in a destructive cult (and we were ) however their is a far larger destructive cult by the name of islam./ muslim two young teenage girls killed because they were dancing and recording it on a mobile phone .they were not naked they were in traditional dress.it was reported to be an honour killing by a step brother......honour killings are rife with this religion.....genital mutilations of females are rife with this religion.....suicide bombings are rife with this religion .....,even killing fellow islamists of a different sect...a young girl is shot because she wants to promote an education for young girls...multiculturism in western society only advances the agenda of extremists of islam ,they use it to their advantage against the softer policys of freedom of democracy........political correctness is going to be on the headstone of democracy.......mark my words .

by jw07 inwhat would the governing body do if their precious website were hacked and redirected to one such as this or jw struggle for hours or even days?
what if their site was hacked to expose ttatt on the front page, and their video content replaced by videos from people like thesnarkyapologist or danmera?.
what do you think the damage control strategy would be like?.

desperate or stupid - you decide
by finally awake injust ron has received a couple of phone calls in the last few days from the rbc brother wanting him to come roof a kingdom hall.
now, just ron hasn't been to a meeting since december 2011, and certainly hasn't got a current volunteer form on file.
so i ask, are they desperate or just stupid?.

Rumor: April 3, 2015 start of Great Tribulation?
by Londo111 inon another forum, somebody mentioned that there is a growing belief with those high up in watchtower hierarchy that the great tribulation will begin april 3, 2015. evidently, one has to check the skycharts for that date and compare with 33 ceand also compare with the history of jws for past 40, 80, 120 years.
dont ask me to verify the rumor...these things come and go.
im sure lots of people in hq believe all sorts of things.. .

Havent heard that one, and i still keep up with some CO's and bethelites who don't know I'm inactive. But, I'm sure at least one of them would have given me a heads up if they had heard it cause he loves to gossip.

Many ex-JWs have never read Combating Cult Mind Control
by Londo111 inthe general public knows far too little about cults and mind control...and this is reflective of many ex-jws as well.
when i meet up with former jws, either in person or on the phone, im surprised that the majority have never read combating cult mind control.
of course, i am sure many former jws do not want to read yet another publication.

Thanks for that update Robert, hopefully they get on it sooner than later. I can't imagine it is very difficult at all to make a readily available book also available on ebook, unless they are in a very bad contract with their publisher.

MTS & Gilead: Can we talk about how much of a FAILURE these 2 schools were/are?
by Black Man ini know quite a few from both of these schools who basically crashed and burned once they got into their assignments.
graduates of these schools would be thrown into foreign territorities or remote areas without a good visible means of support and would get emotionally, mentally, financially burned out.
post your experiences or of those you know that went to these pitiful excuses for educational institutions..

I know many that never made it to their assignment. I knew one bethelite couple around 2003 that went to Gilead, but for some reason never finished. People around bethel gossiped and talked about them so much it bothered me. I mean, its a huge commitment to do what they are asking, I didn't see any shame in a reality check and changing your mind.
I can only think of one MTS graduate that made it more than 2 years in his assignment, and from what I hear he is struggling quite a bit.

No, but I have gotten the phone call that someone else was "so sorry but i just had to tell them".
On at least two occasions, I have been approached by a well meaning J-dub who told me to turn myself in for one thing or another. I would just go back to them a week or so later and tell them that I talked to the elders and they were very understanding and helpful and were going to work with me. Of course I had never talked to the elders, I was no dummy, but they always believed it and never brought it up again!

I really like this book, especially as others have said that it does not even remotely mention JW's so its a little easier to get others to read. I just wish it was available in some sort of digital format, I have the physical book, but some who I would like to share it with would prefer the privacy of their kindle as opposed to a real book they would have to hide it.
