EXACTLY. This is what spurred this post was last weeks TMS review. I think that the talk was interesting, and in my Hall the speaker did a great job in terms of technicality, but I lol'd when he mentioned the Millerites looking silly in 1874 when they were on rooftops waiting to be taken. Little did he know that JW's are associated with the Millerites and I am sure that some of the Bible Students in 1914 were doing the same thing. Ah, ignorance. ~Thoughtless

Dualism in new WT theology?
by Thoughtless ini am not the most "deep" wt student, and i am trying to beef up on wt theology so i can reassess my belief system and prove to myself that what i am planning to do is the right thing.
but what i lack in wt theology knowledge, i make up in some philosophical knowledge.
wt theology teaches a purely physicalist standpoint, in which our soul is limited to our bodies, no spirit.

What Is The Most Absurd JW Belief or View?

Honestly, as a doubting JW/apostate, I still believe in the blood issue. I won't accept blood for myself, but as for others, I think it is a conscience decision. I mean, what helped me come to this conclusion namely is the situation in which David denied the water in which his soldiers busted their arses to get out of the respect of their lives. But that is just me. I think when it came to Christians eating the meat that were used for pagan festivals, a lot of Christian jimmies were rustled and Paul essentially told them to chill out, it's a conscience decision. In my personal opinion, I think blood, holidays (with the exception of some such as Halloween) and other PRINCIPLES should just stay that way, PRINCIPLES, not LAWS. It is all a conscience decision, and we should just leave that as such. Now to contriboot to the thread. I believe that the 1914 math is just utter BS and that is what helped spearhead my doubting/curiosity about the bOrg along with the 1919 theme. I think the UN prophecy is actually really interesting, but fallacious due to the fact that the ten toes of the beast means nothing in JW eschatology. This is just my view point. ~Thoughtless

I am personally a physicalist, and I do not personally believe in dualism, although I think that the concept is pretty cool. Yet with the JW "rapture" theory about the anointed or FDS being sent up to heaven, it implies a dualism, because the physical body HAS TO BE DESTROYED for them to go up to take care of their heavenly duty but as spirit creatures.
Am I the only one who sees this?

Yeah, that is pretty much about right. I know for a fact that a lot of people are intimidated by my intelligence, so I keep to myself. It is safer this way. I am pretty witty and well informed and my greatest strength is expounding and weaving concepts. I am careful to really externalize my intelligence too much, TOO DANGEROUS.

i am a baptized publisher who is under the age of 25 who attends college, and i do have responsiblities within the congregation.

Yeah, I really respect my privacy naturally, so that is a good thing. It is killing me now, because of the fact that I am kind of interested in someone, but I can't "play fish" yet. It sucks so much, and just the fact that I am living in a lie is more detrimental to my moral.

OH YISS. Bumping for solidarity.
I am still a JW, and I totally have my justified doubts and this was something that has always bothered me. I am going to college anyways, and I feel that I am being put on the backburner in the congregation, but whatever. I am happy to do what I am doing. When I graduated with Honors with my AAS in English in just nine months, I looked in the mirror and I felt truly proud. As some may know about me, I was screwed out of a 60K scholarship and A LOT MORE (I wasn't denied to ANY college), but my mom refused to go along with it, so I went to my local Community College and got my AAS when I was 18, and I am 19 now (just turned 19). I have come to accept the fact the reason why the WBTS don't want us to go to college is mind control, essentially. I am known to be precocious and logically, the JW doctrine does not add up ,but I am the only one who sees this, and I am way too fearful to talk about the TTATT to my family. So I hope that one day that they can see it for themselves. Until then, I will begin a slow fade. B|

A lot of people respect me going to college and just getting it done IN HALF THE TIME. The two people that I cut off (after a trip to crisis due to my depression due to familal pressures and the religion), really really respected that I decided to go to college.
