You should probably ask what kind of Jew was Moses. Not to mention he made it a law to cut the foreskin, but he also continued using the Egyptian designation after a invocation, "Amen" Actually, he was the first one to use the term in the scriptures.

Numbers 5:22 - may this water that brings the curse pass into your bowels and make your body swell and your thigh fall away.' And the woman shall say, 'Amen, Amen.'

Deuteronomy 27:15 - "'Cursed be the man who makes a graven or molten image, an abomination to the LORD, a thing made by the hands of a craftsman, and sets it up in secret.' And all the people shall answer and say, 'Amen.'

Deuteronomy 27:16 - "'Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'

I DO understand Gizmo. I've learned a few lessons myself on the way. I just mentioned I am a Bahai because folks seemed to want to ask questions. Not asking or forcing or promoting anyone to do as I do. Just here to help if I can.

This is a very interesting thread. I am of the Bahai Faith. Born a Hebrew and Native American. Married a Bahai and after researching for myself, decided this is what I was born for. I enjoy doing for others and working hard to bring racial harmony and education to others. But the information of the tender and loving men Bahaullah and Abdul Baha won my heart. Did you know that we teach that if a family has 2 children and only enough money to educate one, that one should be the female? Because the male will have a way made for him by being the dominant one in society. Also the comment about compulsory education was for the government to take that responsibility. Did you know that iliteracy is high even in America where there is compulsory education? Education is important not only for helping oneself but for helping your fellow man.

A feast is free and if possible, try to attend. It is casual and mentally stimulating. The Bahais also do not try to change ones culture. Beautiful. So if you are a rose...you may keep YOUR petals in the Garden Of God.

White man`s religion

i was in the philippines some time ago.

the big religion there is a group called `iglesia ni cristo`(literally church of christ).

an indigenous group which sprung up around the turn of the century.. it has since become hugh(in the philippines).

The worship of America and American things is called "Cargo Cultism" This can also be perceived in Blacks thinking White is better. That is what I found in associating with JWs. I found that to be oneself, physically was to be considered "worldly". The way you spoke, the texture of your hair, the ethnic clothes, your culture, your heritage and the knowledge there of, all had to change to the prevailing race of the moment. Which happened to be White.

Also when my great grandfather was young, the White boys in the area (Kathlene, GA) would hold him down and cut his hair. Eventually, he just stopped wearing his hair long. I visited a male friend of my from the Navajo and he became a JW. He cut his hair short to be "a brother". I broke down and cried. How many Whites have had to change their culture to be a JW? I wonder.

And yes, if they are still teaching by deed that White is better and anything else is worldly and others accept it, then JW is a CULT within itself.

they have an article at the url below which i thought was hillarious.

it talks about how the native americans are facing more and more assimilation and the destruction of thier indigenous culture by "the world".

I find this post intriguing. I was reprimanded because I did not leave my love of my people while I was studying. Some sisters asked to study with my daughter. I found later that they were prying about my life away from the meetings. I was on the council of the Potawatomi Nation although I am (Hvtschi) Mvscogee. One day at a book study they were talking about witch craft. One sister who was studying with my daughter raised her hand about the witch craft of the Pow Wow. My mouth flew wide open. This woman had NEVER been to a Pow Wow. She did not know that she would have been warmly welcomed. And that we do not PUSH our ways on anyone. We, infact have our worship at the beginning of Pow Wow so that we can talk privately to their "nature". I see no difference in Abraham talking to angels than us talking to the spirits of God's creations. Hvtschi are peaceful, fun loving people. She missed the whole point. Needless to say, that was my daughter's last study and my last time setting foot in the Kingdom Hall.
