When was that video created/published?
I ask because John Cedars and former JWs made a similar video with similar intentions and the same song playing last year:

by Illuminated ini recently watched this excellent interview with ex members of scientology.

Scientology is fun--at first. It's all about YOU. But, after the first 3 levels, the clamps of the cult kick in.
Levels--sounds Masonic.

Simon that's a good point. So in other words, they are intentionally applying mind control cult tactics? -

In my late teens/early 20's, I was often a magnet for different cults attempting to lure me in.
I remember Scientology carts and tables all over Los Angeles at that time. A Scientologist pulled me over and discussed the organization as I was walking by. He handed over the book Dianetics to take home. I remember how fascinating the book was after reading a few chapters and was planning on going to a meeting until a friend informed me it was a cult.
Scientology has taken over Hollywood. Their buildings are everywhere. My love was invited to the Celebrity Center once when he was disfellowshipped. He later told me how robotic everyone was and strongly felt it was a cult. Ironic.
Watching the interview made me feel like I was on this board.

What do Jehovah's Witnesses as a whole think about Scientology?

rebel8 thank you for clarifying. Prior to creating this thread, a friend of mine had mentioned DID/dissociative disorder when I spoke to her about the natural self being split from the cult personality. I googled the info a bit prior to creating this thread, but was further confused in the articles I read.
Hassan did't mention DID in the video--my mistake in thinking it was the same thing. He did respond to another question stating many professionals misdiagnose cult member's symptoms when it's actually a cause of the cult.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm still a bit confused and perhaps I'm not understanding DID fully. I did watch this video...http://youtu.be/MduiLRExRyc
At 30:36 Steve Hassan says:
"As a mental health professional I would talk about mind control as a dissociative disorder where you're split from yourself, from your true self or your authentic self and part of the healing is feeling your feelings, having your thoughts and developing a tool kit for reality testing..."

JW's - lack of knowledge of their own beliefs
by Illuminated inwhy are so many jehovah's witnesses unaware of their own beliefs.
.
i would imagine the repetitive meetings, studies and door to door knocking would firmly root them in their beliefs.. yet, i've observed they either back out of challenging questions at times, or share a link to jay w org.. .

Religious people in general are often ignorant of their own religious doctrine.
Some are. Yet, the ones I know, choose their mind over handing their minds to a group of men to control for them. It's extremely contradicting, dangerous and strange to claim you have the truth, know the truth, preach about it, hand your entire life over, yet be ignorant of what you actually believe.

Strangely, my Bible Study Conductor spoke to me about how sometimes when witnessing someone would ask a question, and he would recall an answer that he had forgotten he knew, and how it must have been the Holy Spirit taking him over.
"Holy Spirit" in WT terms aka cult personality. Creepy.
I just watched a video on Youtube with Steve Hassan. He was at an exJW event/film review answering questions from ex members. He did confirm Jehovah's Witnesses (cult members in general) have dissociative personality disorders--cult personality versus the natural/real personality.
