  Best Comeback when being Counselled

  i've had a chuckle at all the "dumbest counselling" anecdotes.

  now, what was your best/funniest comeback line (and the line that inspired it) when you were being counselled by someone who plainly didn't know what he was going on about?

  This is Mulan.............out of posts...........AGAIN!!!

  This was priceless. About 6 years ago, we were called in to answer to the elders, because our niece's husband lodged a complaint against us. In the letter, accusing us, was the statement that I had told our niece that the NWT added God's name to the Greek scriptures. One of the elders asked me "Did you tell her that?"

  My reply: "I thought everyone knew that. It's right in the Divine Name brochure. I can't remember when I didn't know that." Man, was he red. He was an old man, who had been a witness for 50 years, and was the PO at the congregation. The other elder said he thought I was probably right. I absolutely loved it.

  We walked out, in good standing, and I think they were hesitant to ever call us in again, because they never did. It became obvious, a few minutes into our meeting, that we knew a whole lot more about what they believe than they did. A few months later, we walked out forever.

  Our niece has divorced that husband, (divorce granted a week ago) and is now out of the borg. YAY!! Three of her four adult children won't talk to her anymore, but we all hope they will eventually recognize their loss, and come around. She posts here as Inky.

  does anyone know if clara carlson, mother of clarence meunier, is still alive?

  the last i knew she was living in auburn, washington.

  she would be in her 90's if she is still alive.

  what to believe now?

  this is my first time posting here or on any ex-jw forum but i want to know if anybody else is not sure what to believe anymore.

  paradise on earth sounds great and it was drilled into me for 11 years, it's just kinda hard to shake.

  what about armageddon?

  It's so hard to know what to believe. I felt the same way as you, and to a great extent still do.

  My friend, Joy (Joy2bfree on this board) always says to live the law of love. That's a good idea.

  Hey Gang I am getting my brain scanned tomorrow

  yup thats right iam going to have an mri on my brain...... i have severe numbness on my left side of my face and no feeing in my hands and arm......i have been hurt in 3 car accidents and have two herniated disks in my neck ( oh i pray that they don't have to do surgery......pray for me )))))) i thought i had ms.... a while back because of the numbness but they said no...... well now i get another scan andgo to see a neurologist ,,,, i hope they find out what the problem is so i wont be on

  Mulan here. Out of posts again.

  Be sure and let us know what the results are. Probably pinched nerves, but you never know.

  If that's it, I recommend a good chiropractor. Get a recommendation from someone you trust. I would definitely do that before I would consider any surgery.

  Just a side note, not to scare you, but two years ago, my cousin, who was battling breast cancer, had the same symptoms you describe. After her brain scan, they found a large marble sized tumor at the top of her brain. The cancer had metasticized. Ultimately it was the cancer in her brain that killed her.

  But, you don't have cancer, so relax!! That was just an FYI.

  I Made it Through Hell Week

  i made it through my first week without a cigarette.

  it still seems odd that a cigarette is no longer the first thing i think of when i wake up.

  this is the first time it has happened in 20 years.

  This is Mulan. Apparently, I am out of posts. One of my good friends, is an older woman, who was nearly a chain smoker (3 packs a day) for 36 years. She quit in July. She went to bed for a week, and thought she would die, but didn't give in. She called me recently to tell me she is still nicotine free, and sometimes she isn't even thinking about it. Then, she laughed, and said she hoped to go an hour without thinking about it soon. I guess it's a very hard thing to get out of your body, especially after so many years. She didn't use the patch or any other things to assist her...............she just quit. We had a Bible study, years ago, with a couple who had smoked for about 20 years, and they quit, without any problems. They just quit! They claimed there was no withdrawal or any discomfort. They are the lucky ones, I think.

  This is Princess and The Queen (one of the best characters there..........she is hilarious) She asked Princess if I was her STEPMOTHER..........Later we saw her walking, regally through the park, and Snow White running like mad in front of her, occasionally looking back in sheer terror.   it's a bit early but as we are leaving town i had no choice but to do this now.

  sunday is mulan and big red's fortieth wedding anniversary.

  they were kind enough to want to share the celebration with their family so we are going to hawaii with them tomorrow for two weeks!.

  this lucky fellow i have come to know and love celebrates his date of birth two days before jesus does up in heaven!

  this is not to say that vallywally was born the same year as good ol' jeezee boy - though his creaking brittle bones are getting close to becoming the same age - valis will have to summon the strength in his monty burnsesque body to blow out that truckload of candles on his cholesterol free birthday pappadum.
