  A very special anniversary.

  it's a bit early but as we are leaving town i had no choice but to do this now.

  sunday is mulan and big red's fortieth wedding anniversary.

  they were kind enough to want to share the celebration with their family so we are going to hawaii with them tomorrow for two weeks!.

  this lucky fellow i have come to know and love celebrates his date of birth two days before jesus does up in heaven!

  this is not to say that vallywally was born the same year as good ol' jeezee boy - though his creaking brittle bones are getting close to becoming the same age - valis will have to summon the strength in his monty burnsesque body to blow out that truckload of candles on his cholesterol free birthday pappadum.

  Christmas dinner.....need help.

  Mulan here...........using hubby's ID.

  A mortar and pestle is a kitchen tool (pharmacists use it too) that you use to grind herbs and seeds into powders or pastes.

  Cardamom is a spice, that comes in pods. You can buy it powdered, but the pods are better. You open the pods and a few seeds are inside, that you crush or grind with your mortar and pestle.

  i never could understand why people that never go to meetings, suddenly show up at circuit assemblies or district conventions.

  We had a CO in the 70's who called those kind of Memorial attenders, Memorial Stars.They come out once a year.(of course he said that to the elders, not to the cong.)

  the elders came over this morning as promised.

  he called before to explain why so as not to show up under false pretenses.

  he said yesterday when he called, he was with a service group so he said he was an "old friend" and wanted to come visit.

  Now, I am going to go close my curtains so they can't see my decorations.

  Seriously, your Dad said if they come today, he doesn't want to deal with them. He isn't going to let them off easily, and if they see our decorations, that will be all they need. No conversation necessary.

  They will definitely "get" us for associating with you now. Right, like we would cut off our kids. Well, they will have an unpleasant experience at our house. Hopefully, it will be after we get home from Hawaii.
