Secret Santa (Gift Exchange) 2006

gadget did a great job of organising the forum gift exchange the last couple of years so i thought i would give him a break and volunteer to organise it this year.. for those that are new basically what it involves is that those who want to join in will post to this thread and then pm me their name and address.

Just got back from Walt Disney World...
by rwagoner inwe just got back from our first trip ever to walt disney world.. wife, son 8yo, daughter 2yo and i took the amtrak train from boston to orlando and spent 6 days at disney.. wonderful time of year to go...warm temps, very light crowds, epcot food & wine festival and we attended a special halloween party at night at the park and the kids trick or treated at disney !!.

Have my sons footprints (he was 10 weeks preemie - healthy now) on my left chest and my daughters hand print on my right chest
have my wedding ring tattooed on (I have a gold allergy)
and have the word "Kruppel" with 3 red crosses on my right forearm to memorialize the 350,000 people with disabilities killed by the nazis as they perfected their killing techniques.

if you search for "jehovah" you will find lots of good little dubs asking why people dont like them and answering questions from people wondering why they are so annoying !

Excommunication is good!!!!
by I-follow-the-narrow-path inwhile talking to my teacher today we talked about excommunication.
i told her i thought it was mean to not talk to those members which have been excommunicated.
she told me; however, that those who leave the church should be punished.

I know it has worked very well for me. I left the jw's. I wasn't disfellowshipped, just didn't agree and left. So now I don't need to worry about those pesky family functions or seeing my parents because they can't speak to me. I also don't need to run back and forth taking my children to spend time with their grandparents. My parents are both getting older and have many medical problems but I don't need to spend a lot of time worrying about them because they have already decided to follow the jw rules and simply allow themselves to die rather than accept life saving treatment. And if something should happen to them I won't need to miss work to attend the funeral because I am not welcome there.Can you see where I am coming from here ? Shunning in any form is a hateful, unloving, unchristian practice. It tears families and friendships apart and is certainly not brotherly love in any way. If it is intended to "punish" me...then for what ? I have been accused of no wrongdoing. If they intend to shame me and make me beg to be allowed to return...I have no reason to be ashamed...and why would I want to return to an organization that I don't believe in and that treats people in such a cold, heartless manner.
Excommunication is NOT Good !!!!!! ***Also you called the jw conducting your study "your teacher". This is a very long stretch at best. jw's are encouraged NOT to continue their education past high school so their qualifications as a teacher are really very "iffy". They really don't "teach" it is much more like repeating a well rehearsed script.

Need to vent
by caligirl ini am so pissed at the family court system.
did you know that there is a state which shall remain nameless at this point that by law requires child support to continue to the age of 21, or as long as the "child' is attending school (and they have to attend only part time, which at community college is usually 2 classes or about 6 credits) it is bad enough that the majority of teenagers today have an "entitlement mentality", but now there is a law that backs them up!!!
kids don't even have to say thank you because they are "entitled" by the nature of the socialist crappy laws to do it!!

If I were a sculptor I could form a piece of art "in my image" but could use one of many materials to do that. If I used clay it could still be in my image but would not mean that I was made of clay, if I used marble it could still be in my image but would not mean that I was made of marble....
but hey...what do I know.
