  How is JWD doing ?

  someone came out with the tired old claim that the site is dying, there is a mas exodus, yada yada yada.

  some people would really love for that to happen, i know .... we have gone down a few places on bigboards simply because some new sites were added to it that have more posts - the sites we are ranked alongside all went down by the same amount at the same time and we've gone up against some and down against others (not that sheer post numbers matter that much).

  also, a combination of optimising page caching and alexa changing how they rank things has reduced the ranking on that too ... but how are we really doing?.

  I am more of a reader than a poster but I do try to speak up from time to time just to let people know that I'm still around. It is just nice to have a place like this to vent, rant, learn, socialize...whatever.

  Welcome to NH ! My family and I are in Hanover...about 1.5 hrs north of Manchester. I know there are a few faders in the area but for obvious reasons I think they'd rather not be too public.

  LOL I wish....it is a business conference so timing is out of my hands.

  March 31 @ Foxwoods Casino -- April 3 - 7 in Las Vegas....Man...I love the people that set these things up. Just wish I could break even at the blackjack table once in awhile ! LOL

  The Young Witness Exodus Continues

  i just found out that , on my wife's side of the family, the last witness kid has given up!.

  he was the very last one in that half of our extended witness family.

  ten years ago, i never would have.

  There was another thread recently with a similar thought....

  I am 4th generation and only my parents are left in but that is largely due to the older folks dying off.

  I do think it is odd though that I look at the generation of people my age when I was in the org and now all these years later (I am 40 now and out for 15+ years) and most have left in one way or another. Some DF's (returned and DF'd again in some cases), some like me who DA'd and others who are fading. I am not talking about just my old congo either....most of the people my age even in several other "halls" in Vermont and New Hampshire were affected. It just seems strange to think that from time to time a whole generation of jw kids simply disappears.

  While I certainly can't take full credit, nearly all of the kids my age that grew up with me in the org are now out in one fashion or another. I know of only 4 or 5 people in that age group that are still in...and that is from 5 or 6 different congregations in the area. Sort of wierd....like an entire generation just left.
