  looks like the faithful jws are back in the basement, the oct 15th wt has this image on page 9. but now the lights have been turned out!

  i guess the persecution is really kicking in if the electric company has shut off their electricity, or the jws are really, really paranoid that the government is gonna get them if they have the lights on!.

  only one guy is smart enough to use his tablet (far right), the rest of the jws are old school, using a lantern to read their bibles in the dark!

  Hot topic in congregations: having a beard/goatee

  i am starting this topic because i was wondering, i see many who leave "the truth" are glad because they can finally have a beard.

  is having a beard really a no go in congregations?

  how is / was it in your congregation?.

  The founder of WBTS Charles Taze Russell wore a beard, and all the congregation of his day. Once Russell died and the only one of his collegues who was clean shaven took over ,"Rutherford"....the unwritten rule of EVERYONE MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN! ! , came into effect....

  Its whats called the "RR".....rutherfords rule...pretty lame! !

  No More Money!

  as of this june (i've already given my may contributions which are substantial) i am no longer giving money to support useless building projects that serve no good purpose.

  i am no longer giving money at conventions or assemblies.

  i am no longer giving money toward the circuit overseers upkeep.

  The gb lames dont work, very few ever have held a real job, live very nicely, have nice cars, dress in expensive suits, have expensive jewelery, and so forth. And are asking, "in videos ", for children to give them their ice cream money........how lame is that?

  Views on handing out literature during field service

  it is brought to my attention that some non jw's deliberately accept jw literature just to throw it in the bin.. their intentions are perceived as positive meaning these non jw's throwing their magazines away is a good thing.. what is your view on the matter?.

  should they accept or not accept their literature, and why?.

  is accepting literature benefiting or damaging the cult, and why?.

  Anti-JW billboard going up in Texas

  the first ever billboard has been crowd funded on reddit and will be going up.

  i'm curious to know if it will cause a spark in any jw's who already have questions or doubts and lead them to research into the child abuse cases and lead them to the thought that the wt and gb are not inspired or gods mouthpiece.

  at the very least it will provide people a topic of conversation and questions to the jw's who knock on their door: "so whats this whole sex abuse in kingdom halls thing about i saw on the billboard down the road?

  It came in today's mail

  it came today, the dreaded envelope containing my personal copy of "return to jehovah" from my elderly, desperate mother.

  it included a small note asking me to read it over and to let her know what i think.

  she got it at her assembly.. firstly, i'm angry that she continues to push her religion on me, given that i stopped attending meetings over thirty years ago, and very offended that she assumes that i still want to be a witness, which is her choice of religion, not mine.

  Oh wow ! ! ! ! Same exact boat. Same exact boat...... im soooo faking it , to pacify my elderly father.....

  Anything to put a smile on the old mans face, cuz the religion never will. Try to see it that way if you can.
