September KM - 70 alterations in Revelation Climax Book
by dozy ini can't find a thread on this subject yet - if there is one , please delete this one.. the september kingdom ministry has a 4 page insert detailing the 70 alterations in the revelation climax book which is due to be studied at the book study shortly.
i'll provide scans if anyone is interested.. i will leave it up to more experienced analysts to examine the reasons for specific changes , but just a few brief observations for now:.
p32 box - "they were completely exonerated" changed to "charges against them were dropped" - interesting change of terminology for the 1918 watchtower eight.

Dozy: Can you please scan the alterations for me so I can copy them. There is a JW that I want to discuss this with, so I want to be informed before I started talking to her about it. Thanks!

Well, I don't know why you want to leave all us wonderful people behind for that hunk feeding you yogurt! Find out if he has a twin brother, would ya!
If I've told you once, I've told you a million times... and so has everyone else apparently! YOU CAN'T GO YET! BTW, you'll notice that OUR prayers are being answered on this one, not yours!
Happy birthday on Saturday, darling. And whether you like it or not... I wish you MANY MORE!!!

Anyone here ever watch Charles Stanley's "In Touch" program on Sundays on TV? He has a Bible teaching ministry. That will whet your appetite for reading the Bible. Or go to intouch.org I use the NIV translation.

Amen Azaria and Little Toe! I started to read the Bible alone (NIV) from Matthew and am at Revelation. I could never get the meanings in the NWT. Now I find myself reading both just to try to catch the errors in the NWT with the help of the Greek words in the Greek Interlinear (although I know that's published by the WTBTS). But they don't count on people actually reading the NWT, let alone studying it to find the errors!
Grace is indeed a BEAUTIFUL word! It says volumes more than "undeserved kindness". Surely, everyone DESERVES kindness. But GRACE is a gift from God. Amen?

by weasel ini was a jw from 1956 to 1976.
1976 makes a point, doesn't it?
1975 precedes 1976.

Welcome Weasel:
Was a JW for 30 years. Glad to be out since 1995. Hope you find the "real" truth about Jesus, like I did. I figure He's a pretty good guy to die for MY sins! And His Father's awesome, once you really get to know him. He doesn't make us turn in the hours we spend witnessing about them, or sit in meetings 5 hrs. a week! He just LOVES us unconditionally.

Welcome to the board.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Therefore, NO religion is the "truth". Can we have a personal relationship with Jesus and Jehovah without being tied to a religion? YES! Jesus told his disciples that He would send them a helper - the Holy Spirt - to teach them everything they needed to know. If you ask the Holy Spirit to teach you what you need to know, that's all you need. Don't need all those Bible aids! As for being a sinner - there are no degrees of sin. We are ALL sinners! That's why Jesus died for us - to pay our sin debt in FULL. It's over, finished. The only thing we have to do is confess to our heavenly father - not to any man - that we recognize that we are sinners, and need the Holy Spirit to help us. No need to keep feeling guilty or to keep trying to change your life. The Holy Spirit will even do that for you!
P.S. I was a JW for 30 years. I'm 58 now and glad to be out and know the real "truth" about Jesus.

Welcome, Kibi! Glad you were only in for 2 years. I was a JW for 30 years. Went in at 19, the only one in my family. Married a new JW, raised 2 kids as JW's (who are still in). Saw some discrepancies over the years, but kept excusing them. Finally left in 1995. Never df'd nor da'd, so my kids still speak to me. Just stopped going. Spent 8 years without God, not knowing what to believe. Last summer I privately accepted Jesus as my personal savior. I've never felt so close to God in 30 years of book learning! If your husband isn't going, he's definitely having doubts of his own. Take heart. He'll come to his senses when you least expect it. Thanks for sharing your story.
