If anything I have cried some tears and smiled. It's good to know that many of you experienced many of the same things I did when I was in the org. Its good to know I was never really alone! and that I am very normal. Thank YOU. My only regret is that I did not find this site sooner.

What Did You Hate Most About Being A JW???
by minimus inhaving to knock on strangers doors, giving a talk in front of an audience, being questioned by the elders, having to go to 5 meetings???....etc.

Being asked to accompany sisters on studies who had roaches and mice in their apartment. Always remembering to bring a head covering when conducting a study in the company of a brother. Feeling the pressure to get my hand up multiple times during the watchtower study.

What's the worst sin that you knew a JW commited? Espec. Elders, Bethelites

A friend of a friend's father who was an elder at the time was charged with embezzeling money from a chain of local daycares. The whole thing got kinda of nasty. When the media found out he was a jw they had a fields day with him!

Returning 20 years of JW books to KH need opinions
by SpunkyChick inmy mom and i have been cleaning out the basement and gathered over 20 years worth of jw books, magazines, tracts (some dating from the 1950's!).
we are playing with the idea to return the jw material in a box, with the words "we quit" and a xeroxed copy of the cover coc next sunday morning in front of the local kh.
does anyone have any better/more sarcastic ideas?

I am in a similar situation. I still have very old publications and bound volumes galore. I wouldn't give any congregation the satisfaction of knowing I would give these back to them for free. True I don't use them anymore, but something tells me that they are worth something. Its a part of my past, so I will always keep them.

Poll- Did you have sex while unmarried when you were a JW?
by FreeofGuilt ini probably was the biggest slut in the kh- sex before baptized @ 13- sex after baptism when i was 17. oral sex about 5 times w/ different guys from the kh-- what can i say, i loved being a rebel, & love sex- i think the elders liked it to because i had to tell them the details (some guy always told), & they would probably get off later- never was disfellowshipped-- i am a good actress, but i thought the "holy spirit" guided them, well not because they believed my sobbing- --:-) kristine

What I Don't Miss at a District Convention
by simplesally inname the things you don't miss about going to a dc!
---getting there so early and then find that the "servants" have saved all the good seats
---not having time to make a decent lunch and getting admonished about not buying from nearby vendors.

The best part of the conventions was socializing through the assemblies with my girls and scoping out some of the cute brothers who were holding those ridiculous signs that read"keep moving"
Sitting in the bleachers in the nose bleed section with binoculars and personal fans
Staring at the damn time clock wondering when I am going to get the hell out of here
Walking down those narrow stairs about to fall and break my azz in heels.
Seeing people I hated, and pretending to like them
Being on clean up duty for the womens bathroom.
When they dimmed the lights for the dramas you could finally go to sleep.
The mad dash to the stage to get those plastic flowers and leftover carpet

sometimes, things we couldn't tell a person to their face, we can express here.
or we might be able to give of ourselves, our experiences, our joys and frustrations......you name it!.......regarding my vent, it is that i can't understand why some post on these boards and yet are very pro witness.

You know I posted a thread like this a few months ago. I wasn't intending to mean, but I got some really nasty responses. I agree there has to be a time when you let all this crap go meaning posting on jwd, reliving experiences, letting this religion take over your mind. Hell I don't know if I will be even be here three months from now, never mind a year later. I simply don't care anymore. To me it's a sign I have moved on.
