Did you bring binoculars to assemblies or conventions?
by codeblue inwasn't it funny how many people brought binoculars to these conventions and only used them to check out sister wealthy's new outfit or that really cute guy that you had been eyeing in the corridor during breaktime?.
of course...we told everyone it was to see the "speaker"...(riiiiiiiiiiight!).

If your thinking about buying a Dell computer....
by RubyTuesday inmy company recently(less than a year ago) replaced all our computers with dell and it has been nothing but a nightmare!.
within 3 months 2 of them had to have their motherboards replaced.thats just the tip of the iceberg.i can't even begin to tell you the numerous "little" problems we have had.you will spend hours on the phone with snotty sarcastic tech support agents ...if you can first figure out how to get to them.. check out this link if you don't believe me.. http://www.smorgasbord.net/blog/archive/000002.shtml.
rumor has it that they are going bankrupt..

I am kinda divided. I have owned a dell dimension 4600 for the past two months. The hardware is is pretty decent considering it was so cheap. Anway with the few problems I have had with it I am finding that the tech support is a joke. You make think that when you call tech support they are in a nice little building in the usa. They are not. Almost all of your calls are routed outside the US to india. I am sorry no offense to anyone here who is of a different cultural background, but the past two times I have called them, I have had difficulty understanding them. The last time I called I knew more about pc's than the tech. Solid machines built by Dell. Tech support is at best awful.

Has Anyone Ever Met Any Celebrities?
by imallgrowedup inthis is a spin-off of another thread where my *mild and chaste* friend, mouthy, admitted to wanting to meet her dream man, tom jones, and that she would even go so far as to throw her bloomers at him, if that is what it would take to get his attention!
well, the mental picture this painted was far too much for me to bear, so i encouraged her to save her red polka-dotted "unmentionables", not only because she might need them in the future, but because i didn't think she'd have to go that far to get his attention.
and i said that - because of a personal experience with him.

Reggie Lewis RIP. My mom had him as a client and friend and, is good friends with his wife. His wife recently became a JW.
Scottie Pippen- Was standing behind me on the monrail in the atlanta hartsfield airport.
Ty Law( the Patriots rock) I met him at a club in boston about a year ago. He's a real cutie!
I seem to be a magnet for NFL/NBA players.

What Is The Stupidest Rule You've Encountered As a Witness?
by minimus inone rule that i never could understand is that if you were studying with an unbelieving husband, you could associate with him, even as couples, but if a person was considered a "weak" witness, it was best to avoid any association until that person changed......what dumb rule or belief comes to your mind??

I believe some congregations made up their own regional rules about grooming and dress. That's why some people would leave their congregation and go to the nearest Hall that was "less strict".
So true Min I found this out real soon when I was pulled aside by an older sister to tell me I was dressed inappropriately. I was told my skirt was too short. In actuality it wasn't, because it was hitting my knees. Funny I was never told this when I would visit the sister cong. and would find young sisters wearing all sorts of worldy dress. This post reminds how wacked out jws really are.

The Document Some of Us Signed After Baptism
by cruzanheart inthere was a thread a while back by someone who asked if anyone signed a document after they got baptised, and it jogged my memory.
so i leafed through some of the old books and found the old yellow "your word is a lamp to my foot.
" on the last is "a record of christian baptism" (see below).

What do you say when the Mormons come by?
by MegaDude injust got through having a conversation with two mormons going door to door on this cold saturday here in fort worth, texas.
damn, they remind me so much of jehovah's witnesses it isn't even funny: the same zeal, the same conviction, the same confidence.
as a matter of fact, they seemed a lot more of all these things.

What do they say about you now that you're out?
by ColdRedRain inyesterday, i was on the phone with a friend i met while i was down in florida.
we had a nice long chat about how she doesn't feel as though she wants to be a jw anymore, and i gave her good guidence, and one of the peices of good guidence i gave her was "do not worry about your reputation, your reputation is held in low esteem by people who are in themselves in low esteem.
" she then told me about how my reputation was slammed down in florida.

I wouldn't call it addiction for me. I visit when the urge hits. Or to check back on the status of a pm I may have sent to someone. I find with the passage of time I become less interested in talking about jws or the wts.

How old were you when you left?
by somebodylovesme ini only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.
all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.
i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.
