Anything to highlight the year 1914. Who cares if it's accurate?

i started reading the feb 2014 public watchtower about a war that changed the world.
i had to do a double take in the very first paragraph.. .
"a century ago, millions of young men left the security of their homes and went off to war.

pages 1766-1767 of the 2013 nwt states that the message of the bible is gods right to rule.. given that the wts declares that gods kingdom rule began in 1914, one would suspect that this would feature.
instead, there is a vague reference to something that supposedly happened about 1914.. here's the picture:.

'ABOUT' will become the new "new light" word since it has no definite time line and can easily be adjusted to fit the latest "new light".
'ABOUT' will replace such catch all words like---- 'apparently', 'evidently', 'clearly', (and my favorite) 'soooooon'.3

before i dive into the actual write-up of this experience, let me put some things straight.. i have thought long and hard if i should write more about my experiences during the 10+ years at different branches.
during these years i worked from financial department, service department, home office and different it assignments.
as you can imagine one sees and hears and reads a lot of stuff going through different stations in different countries.
Sadly true, but one never fully appreciates the darkness of the WTBTS until one gets a view of the underbelly from the inside. I was an elder for 20 years and saw so many disgusting things that it took me, a lifelong JW, to examine ttatt. Hard to imagine that I spent so much of my life making excuses fot the org and chasing rainbows.

the week of december 9th, i have the talk "the right religion demonstrates true faith in jesus christ" base on the reasoning book rs p329.
the following is the suggested material.. istruefaithinjesuschristbeingdemonstrated?
this involves appreciation of the value of the sacrifice of jesus human life and of his position today as heavenly king.
you could point out in your talk by way of question:
Can you imagine Jesus and the disciples talking a coffe break after just an hour in service? Or can you imagine Jesus and 3 to 4 other disciples traveling together to a distant location to make one return visit and have the 3 to 4 disciples just waiting on the 1 or 2 actually making the return visit while the 3 or 4 just visit while waiting----and of course counting their time? Or could you imagine Jesus directing the disciples to conduct a Bible study with the children of another Christians' family------so he could count his time?

the nov 2013 km contains an article that is ridiculous in its level of minutae.. they focus on the word "because".
they tell jws to use the word "because" when explaining why they're at the homeowner's door.
writing department, you wrote an article on the use of the word "because"?
Prune juice may help if you don't want to be irregular!

i have had requests to add an article about beards and jehovah's witnesses.
it is interesting that there is virtually no statement that says a witness cannot have a beard, yet universally they do not have beards.
i have scoured quotes from all the threads on jwn, all references to beard on the cd watchtower library, and copies of elders letters that i have.
Aren't dubs encouraged to follow the example of the 1st century Christian Congregation? (maybe only when convenient to GB dogma?)
Often dubs are reminded of the 'men' that are prominent in this Christian cult called WTBTS. Jesus Christ in the 1st century got things started and CT Russell in modern times revived the work. What is one very prominent feature that these two 'men' have in common? Hint! A beard.
"I want, not unity, but uniformity". so sayeth the GB

off to see the wizardmany will easily recall the story of "the wizard of oz.
" curiously, we can gain some insights about spiritual authority from this popular tale.
dorothy, the scarecrow, the tin man and the cowardly lion go to the wizard because they believe he has the power to give them what they need.
Yes! "The Wizard of Oz" is a near perfect example of how the WTBTS has for years manipulated people and created false hopes. Like Dorthy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Lion, we have it within ourselves to make our lives better or to solve our own problems. I'm now 66 years old and was a dub for most of my life. What really hurts me, and I'm sure others also, is to see our dear lifelong friends sincerely counting the WTBTS promise that everything will be fine as long as you attend all meetings, go out in FS 10 hours a month and give your money to the 'world wide work'.
It truly saddens me when I talk to some of my dear, lifelong friends that are now in poor health and are doing virtually nothing to improve their health. They say that they are 'just waiting on Jehovah" to give them a 'new' body. Even my lovely wife of 47 years still clings to that hope. She has RA. What was once a very energetic, active and athletic woman is now just a pill taker 'waiting on Jehovah'. Her doctors have told her often the benefits of a regular exercise program, but she doesn't have time due to her busy 'theocratic schedule'. I've seen the same mind set with obese friends, "no need to diet and exercise cause Jehovah will give me a new trim body". Dangerous mindset IMHO.

as a daily visitor of this site i am shocked by how judgemental i am.. .
if someone makes a valid point but does not spell well it colours my judgement.. .
if someone who is a clown has excellent grammar i give them leeway.. as an aside i am a gramaphobe.. .
I waz once a jw'er. long as yawl gits the comma in Jezuses words too da evaldoer in the rite plaice, at Lu. 23:43 "Truly I tell you today(,)".... not "Truly I tell you(,) today..." you're gramer is ok.
(Check the foot note in the big NWT reference Bible at Lu. 23:43.)

Desperation and a grasping after straws. The WTBTS is now in full "catch up mode". They have been so far behind the times for decades with their 'Rutherfordism" theology and and avoidance of modern technology. Now everything goes as far as technology. Ipads and notebooks at the KH meetings. Web sites. Email. Tweeting. How ungodly of them! What's next? Maybe this example from the GB of the Church of England.
