WOW! The cliches that we JW's used to throw out there to cover over our 'real' feelings. I guess if something is repeated enough, it becomes "TRUTH". (tm) Just saying!

i have heard that line of rubbish more times from the platform, especially around this time of year.
yet, given the number of children with few or no toys, about 90% of the time, they get little or nothing year round.
sometimes it is because of poverty, often induced because the parents are supposed to cut back on their work and pious-sneer or donate excessive amounts to the worldwide pedophile defense fund (or both).

ohio woman thanks lawyer for saving her life 36 years ago by douglas stanglin, usa todayupdated 2012-03-27 9:29 amflorida attorney joel cohen says the e-mail he recently got from carolynn ivey "raised the hair on my neck.
" the last time she was a part of cohen's life, carolynn ivey weighed less than 2 pounds and desperately needed a lifesaving blood transfusion despite the religious objections of her parents.. cohen, then a young pensacola attorney, was tapped by the escambia county circuit court to become temporary guardian to give legal consent for the transfusions for carolynn and her twin sister, julia, the pensacola news journal reports.
Several years back, when I was already starting my fade, my wife and I hosted lunch for our substitute CO and his wife. He and his wife, both born-in JWs were in their 40's. They were a very nice, warm, and enjoyable couple and they really enjoyed all the children in our congregation. They, however, had 'put off' having children "for the sake of Lord". During lunch, the conversation turned to their upbringing as JWs. The brother related a story of how his best friend's son had been in an auto accident and lost a significant amount of blood. As the story went on, both he and his wife mentioned that the only thing that saved the boy's life was a court ordered blood transfusion. It kind of blew me away that they both he and his wife would admit such a thing since it "violates" WTBTS company policy! I'm pretty sure that this brother had picked up on my attitude toward 'da TRUTH' and I think that he and his wife were sort of letting me know that they also had seen ttatt. I wonder if he is still a dub?

is the governing body defaming god's name?.
doesn't the claim to be "spirit-directed" and to be "jehovah's organization", to only turn around and spread falsehood (aka old light), actually indirectly call god a liar?.
.
How does the preaching work 'glorify' Jehovah name when we have been preaching the un-TRUTH for 7 or 8 decades? This org is an embarrasement to those who loyally supported it for decades. Just saying!

last night we had our midweek meeting.
the bible reading was from "who is doing jehovah's will....the part where they asked who was the fds.
i thought because of the past sept. wt, every hand would go up....all you heard were crickets.
Legacy;
The reason, IMHO, the elder and his wife didn't raise their hands was because they were too damned embarrased to further the illusion of the Fab 8. When the 8 GB GUYS in charge, one day "out of the clear blue sky", announce that they, and they alone, are THE FDS, it made all long time JW's cringe; whether the the long time JW's admit it or not. Nothing screams CULT like making the unilateral announcement; "WE 8 men are THE FDS! Do not question us on this." Just saying!

what would you say are the best questions to ask a jw which they will not be able to answer and may make them question their beliefs?.
what (if you are a former jw) made you question the "truth"?.
Like Terry said yesterday regarding JW's--the "TRUTH"(tm);
If it's "TRUTH", why does it need to change (nulite)tm
If it needs to change, was it ever---the "TRUTH"?

the definition of insanity boils down to expecting success by repeating actions which cause failure.. .
jehovah's witnesses are expected to prove their loyalty to the organization by believing and practicing what they are told.. does this lead to success or failure?.
ask the thousands of loyal believers who were led to expect armageddon in 1914, 1925, 1975!.
Terry:
Great post as usual. The reason we are all here on this forum is because we are no longer deceived! Just playing out the 'string' until the family sees ttatt!

Some religious leaders are concerned, but most are confused. Just saying!

we've all heard the old saying:.
any job worth doing is worth doing right the first time.. but, this would not seem to apply in the only organization on earth claiming to be solely guided by jehovah!.
in the watchtower society, the governing body gathers in a board room and prays, discusses and votes.. presumably the prayer invokes holy spirit of jehovah.
I thought I was in the "TRUTH" (tm), but I was really in the "GUESS" (nulite tm). Just saying!

i asked my mother( still very much active).
she said books made from '86 and before would not be online.
so we both looked at her physical revelation book and it was made in 88 so it should be there.

Spot on Terry;
You have articulated, pretty much verbatim, the discussion I had with my, still active, JW wife about 5 years ago. I asked her "How can we glorify God when we preach things that are not TRUTH?"
I also went through the Vietnam War fiasco in the late 60's. Did no prison time but was sentenced to 2 years hospital work and 5 years probation. I lived in the LA area at the time and many of the brothers were starting to receive hospital sentences down there.
I have been a JW since I was 4yo and am now 67. Went inactive about 5 years ago but checked out mentally after 1995 generation change. Many of my JW friends are "concerned" about me not being active any longer. When they try to appeal to me by saying, "But Steve, you were raised in the TRUTH (tm)." I just reply: "No, I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness." Just saying!
