I know that JW's can't drink the water in the half full glass nor the half empty glass since it's still 100% water. However, if it is broken down into "fractions" can they drink it?
Just asking!

laughter is regarded as one of the exercises that you all the masses can practice irrespective of the age factor.
studies have proved that laughter indeed is the best medicine when it comes to helping one to improve his mental and physical health immediately.
there are several benefits of laughter that makes it a special behavior.

I "served" as an elder on 2 different occassions. From 1972-79 and again from 2000 till 2010. I quit the first time because of doubts after 1975. I was "appoointed by Holy Spirit" again in 2000 so I could help reign in some of the stupid stuff that was happening in our congregation. It sort of helped. I quit believing after 1995.

if so, what is your experience?
i've seen only a few talks by gb members and would like to hear what they're like.
are they personable, aloof, humble, arrogant?
I met Lyman Swingle when he came to deliver the 'dedication' talk for our new KH back in the late 80's here in central California. He seemed very nice and even sort of humble for a guy that had been at Bethel so long. I admire him in a "kinda-sorta way". Didn't he stand up for Ray during the inquisition at first? That's the impression I got from CofC. Anyway he caved in at the end as so many of us have due to peer pressure. Damn peers! Just saying!

i am very interested in hearing from people who really think that people with tattoos are somehow weird or cagey individuals.
i would just like to get your outlook on this matter.
today i was in a grocery store and i sawe this guy with his two kids and his wife shopping.
Where can we get tattoos of THE Governing Body? and where would be the appropriate spot on our body to have said tattoos placed?

"The Grinch movie, eating grinch food , and having alot of fun this last week before Christmas Vacation."
Sounds like "food at the proper time" to me! Just saying!

i remember them stating something to that affect.
does anybody know where this was said?.
After reading jus t some of Rutherford's Rainbow collection I do believe that HE was 'spirit directed'. The 'directing spirit' was 90 proof Canadian whiskey! He had to be in some sort of 'spirit directed', drunken stupor to write some of that hilarious stuff. Gotta give it to him though, he had a lot of us folled for a long time.---Just saying!

eisegesis (formed from the greek preposition ?
"into" and the ending from the english word exegesis, which in turn is derived from ??
"to lead out") is the process of interpreting a text or portion of text in such a way that it introduces one's own presuppositions, agendas, or biases into and onto the text.
REALLY is not the entire Bible a collection of eisegesis? I mean there were hundreds of "books", leters, epistles, documentaries, and etc.to chose from when the Catholic Church sat down to compile the modern day "Bible". In JW land, they defend the modern Bible as correct by claiming that Jehovah preserved it even though he allowed "Babylon the Great" to be it's guardian. If Jehovah did indeed preserve his word back in the 4th century when it was compiled, I wonder why he didn't see to it then that his NAME was also preserved in the Bible. It's a mystery!----Just saying!

in its issue of march 1, 1925, the watch tower published the leading article entitled the birth of the nation which was the first announcement that there had been war in heaven after the gentile times ended in 1914 and that the devil and his angels had been cast down to our earth.
but this was further called attention to later in the article the king in action in the issue of september 15, 1925. this ousting of the devil and his angels from heaven had its effect upon the wild beast and its kingdom here on earth.
all this was forcefully presented in the book entitled deliverance, which was released on friday, may 28, 1926, at the international convention in london, england, after the conventioners adopted a resolution entitled a testimony to the rulers of the world.
AND Rutherford was in heaven before the 'DEVIL' knew he was dead---don't you know!

what you are not permitted to see, examine, test or question is where the magician hides his deceptions so the magic may be passed off as real.. tyranny commences with certain assumptions which are not only unchallenged, but which may not be allowed a challenge.. these assumptions become, in effect, articles of faith on the one hand, and tests of loyalty on the other.. accepting the untested leads to magic-thinking.. .
in italy during world war ii, the fascist leader mussolini was said to be "always right.
" the brutish dictator magically knew somehow.. no counter-examples were permitted to be printed, spoken, discussed or debated without immediate punishments.. in japan, the emperor was said to actually be a god.
Great post Terry!
As we all know by now.."It's not the teachings that are important,, It's our OBEDIENCE to the teachings that will get us into the 'new system'".

i have some potentially controversial questions.. i have always wondered about these things in the back of my mind, but i would immediately dismiss them.
now i am giving myself permission to explore them further.... a lot of attention is given to how big the sacrifice was on the part of jesus and god when jesus laid down his life.
as the story goes, jesus gave his life for our sins and then was miraculously raised back to life a couple of days later.. consider this.
If Jehovah is almighty, he makes the laws and rules, right? Why did the rules and laws necessitate animal sacrifices, the slaughtering and pouring out of blood? Slaughtering living, breathing mammals as blood sacrifices is repulsive to most, if not all humans. Are not humans created in God's image? So if Jehovah is pleased with bloody animal sacrifices, should we humans also find them pleasing? Somewhere there is a disconnect.--Just saying!
