One of my hangups was, If it's too much fun or too enjoyable, it must not be approved by big J because I should be doing something theocratic instead of enjoying myself.

But---thank you WTBTS for reminding us that the fantasy BS you taught 30 or 40 years ago is completely different than what you teach today. Thank you for reminding us that we are now much older and wiser and not nearly as gullible as we once were.

CO's & DO's age 70+ to be laid off on 9/1/14

friend from north carolina, he told me yesterday that they just got a letter that all traveling overseers (do's & co's) age 70 & up are going to be laid off on 09/01/2014.
they will be asssigned to local congregations and further details are pending.. .

I'd venture to say that many are "fed up" with the WTBTS's constant 'end of the world' soooooon prattle. They been preaching it for 30-40 years as DO's and CO's. They have grown "old" believing and preaching about how they would "never get old in this system". Reality has cought up with many in the WTBTS and i don't doubt that many of the older DO's and CO's just don't believe it anymore and it probably show in their activity. They like their coffee breaks much more than going on Bible studies.

Most DO's and CO's are too old to "change". I've been a dub my whole life (now 67 yo) and because I'm not dependent on the WTBTS for my living, I can be honest and say that I wasted most of my life believing the in the WTBTS. No more. I recently heard a DO at the CA say "I know that some of you may be disturbed over smoe of the new light as expressed in the 7/15/13 WT" His words not mine. I truly believe that he was disturbed by the outlandish stuff in that WT.

by punkofnice inok. i'm a brit as some of you know.. what i noticed with the wbt$ is how they only seem to write from an american cultural standpoint.
not a bad thing if you're one of my cousins form the usa i admit........ but.... here in the uk there are some things that are meaningless to us.. eg hazing.
this was warned about in a study and over here we had no idea what it was and it kind of alienated the congregation from the study.

I was in England a few years back and got into a friendly banter with a very personable British bus driver. He was quite honest in admitting that we Yanks do indeed drive on the right side of the road! I thanked him. Then he informed me that the Brits do however drive on the 'correct' side of the road. Got me!

That's no doubt part or the reason that they are building a palacial new complex in upstate NY to house those "faithful men of old" who will be ressurrected sooooooon!

Wheat/weeds parable defeats "organization' teaching
by Zoos inin his illustration at mathew 13: 24-30, jesus made it clear that the wheat and weeds were to grow together until the harvest.
this parable runs contrary to the concept put forward by the wt about getting out of the world and running to their organization for salvation.. first of all, the parable says that the weeds will be gathered, bundled and burned first then the wheat will be gathered into the storehouse.. wt teaches that we need to gather up the wheat first.
not only are they doing it backward, they are teaching that true christians must isolate themselves inside a special wheat organization, separate from the weeds.

They can pick the proverbial "fly poop out of pepper" when it comes to insignificant details if it in anyway supports their outlandish explanation of the Bible. How many toes did the image of Daniel have or not have and what does it signify?

by Terry infolks are about as happy as they decide to be.. looking on the bright side of life gives you more of a foothold when things go awry.
nurturing hope builds a foundation for you which enables you to save for tomorrow and build toward the future and hang on when things get tough.. people dig their own graves when they become pessimists.
"why bother" replaces "that's worth a try!".

I think that the WTBTS could easily make (up) a case the Bible is not "inspired" but "spirit directed". All JW's would then have to believe the 'nu-lite' teaching.
