are others hearing this meme from speakers at their congregation?.
is it a newspeak technique for instilling a sense of urgency?.
if it is - it's more manipulative than 1975. it seems like a way of getting around over use of the word "soon", "just around the corner".. maybe after 100 years of waiting they feel they need to approach it from another angle.. i should mention that the qualifier "may" is added "this may be our last___________________ fill in the blank.. lots of wiggle room.

i want to begin with a quotation by stephen colbert: "we're not talking about truth, we're talking about something that seems like truth the truth we want to exist" - stephen colbert on the origin of the word "truthiness.".
moses brought 10 plagues upon egypt to change pharoah's mind about letting jehovah's people go.. the 5th plague is to destroy only the egyptian livestock:.
6 and the next day the lord did it: all the livestock of the egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the israelites died.. a few days later the 7th plague is described:.
I always had a hard time with the talking snake/serpent in the Garden. I mean didn't it seem startling (like wtf) to EVE that a snake could talk? Or did all the animals talk at that time? And why did big J put a "guardian" angel over humans?

i heard that the witnesses used to smoke back in the day.
is this true?
if so, what was the reasoning behind this?.
I enjoy a good cigar occasionally. Of course I only smoke "invisibly" but I sometimes let my smoking "overlap" into my drinking. Evidently and/or apparently I need to quit soooooooooon!

were there ever specific occurrences which you or those around you thought might be the start of "armageddon"?.
i remember 9/11 being such a day as it happened right as the meeting for field service ended.
it was the week of the c.o.
No later than December 31, 1975 just like I was told!

during the great depression in the 1930's people lost their jobs.. banks closed, and long lines formed in the streets called "bread lines".. people got up early and had to stand in line all day to get a free loaf of bread to feed their family!.
in a cabin in the appalachian mountains there was a family of four: two children (a boy and a girl), a mom and a dad (who had lost his job.
at the local sawmill).. things looked really bleak.
Terry,
YHou the man! Great piece.

i had a publisher tell me this recently that she felt that it showed disrespectful to the brother up there giving the prayer, like you're ignoring him or something.
what do you think?
and if so, any bible scripture or watchtower or awake backing this idea up specifically?.
If a fart is ok then I would hold it-Amen.

there are 4 single men who are serving as ms. all are tripping over themselves for attenttion.
do they have to marry off a ministerial servant before taking him to the next level?.
and what percentage of elders are married?
Actually, if the qualifications for elders and ms's are to be taken literally, then they must be married--husband of one wife-- and have children under subjection.

let's face it.
after 2014 comes and goes uneventfully, reality will hit hard for many.
the organization will fall apart and apathy, inactivity and bitterness will rule.
The attitude of the gb is, "if it ain't broke why fix it?" They ain't broke so no fixes are a comin'.

ytd average.
yearly contribution.
$ 2,625.85. donation resolution .
All I can say is that if jw's buy, "invisible presence", "overlapping generations", and "sooooooon", then spinning that this 'new' donation (wink-wink) arrangement is not "tithing"---welll that will be a walk in the park. And it won't be a stroll.
