  the 2014 revised edition of "what does the bible really teach?

  " uses the text of the 2013 nwt.

  i therefore assume this is the reason for the grey colour of the "bible teach" book.. examples of the adjustments appear at pages 216 and 217 of the book:.

  JF Rutherfraud would be very dissapointed at the use of only one drab color. In fact, he might have made it a df'ing offence. I'm sure he could have found some obscure scripture to twist, I mean base a df'ing on.

  priorities

  is it just me or is the focus on building projects.

  i read through the study for this weekend and all of the focus was on new building construction.

  i was waiting for them to talk about the ministry, and it was in there, but not as the main priority.. i am amazed after visiting an old congregation of mine back in new england just how few (none) of the publishers had helped out on the new headquarters.

  Good observation about the franchising of Kingdom Halls. The "new arrangement" of paying forever on the kh, i.e. never really paying off the mortage on a kh and the outrageous 'rent' that is charged for the circuit assemblies at the Assembly Hall makes cents (dollars). The money does seem to be drying up though.

  One of the biggest priorities for the wtbts is covering their asses on past and present dumb ass teachings. Seems like every new regime of gb members needs to do damage control for the previous regime's failed teachings/predictions. Now that the internet has opened the 'flood gates of heaven' with ttatt, they cannot stop the avalanche of information available in the convience to one's own home at the click of one's mouse.

  Another big priority is making money now that the publishing empire is winding down. Yes, real estate will generate income. But how many kh's and assembly halls can they build with slave labor and sell?

  "Marry only in the Lord" and "Do not become unevenly yoked with an unbeliever" are scriptural COMMANDS, not suggestions! Does anyone get df'ed for breaking these COMMANDS? Nope! Ever wonder why?

  Did the "local needs" talk also warn the 'young sisters' not to marry anyone 23 or older who is not a MS. Remember what 'tight pants Tony', a brother of Christ, (yea right) told the entire worldwide brotherhood. His warning must be heeded.

  The apostle Paul warned; "Marry only in the Lord" but the apostle Tony "tight pants" added to Paul's warning; "marry only in the Lord if he's a MS"

  What are the Core Teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses?

  recently someone asked me to define what core teachings have such a hold on jdubs that they have trouble breaking free.

  trying to single out the driving force that keeps them in the borg, this is what popped into my head:.

  obviously there are lots and lots of wacky things the jdubs teach/believe/pretend to believe.

  The wtbts, i.e. jw's have no CORE teachings. What ever they 'make up' (nu-lite) as they go along perpetuating the org. is their core teaching. Their core teachings are core-rupt for sure!

  I'm 68 years old and it took 64 years before I finally 'broke the spell' of the wtbts. Of course I had doubts along the way but when ttatt really hits, drastic changes can occur. Like your dad, I would have shunned my 'inactive' children before ttatt finally set in for me.

  Hope your dad is waking up!
