by undercover inthis idea was inspired by another post i saw (but forget who or where) referencing the mootness of delaying armageddon now that the 1914 generation is gone.
(i just skimmed over the post and thread, and didn't give it much thought until later).
wt doctrine basically says that jehovah, through his undeserved love, allows wickedness so that people can hear, and accept, the 'truth', thus being saved from the destruction of armageddon.

what on earth has this picture at the top of page 13 got to do with christian watchfulness?

My old congregation is gone
by cookiemaster inwent to the hall today as i was the designated driver for my parents.
an elder who was in our old congregation in the city gave the talk.
i've had a little chat with him and apparently our old congo is gone.

Not too sure about selling existing kh's but one thing for sure is they are not building any new ones. I live in California and up until about 4-5 years ago, there was kh projects going on every weekend and all over the state. In the last 4-5 years, nada!
wtbts used to think like the book Field of Dreams---"build and they will come." Not so much now.

The bible is like any other mythology writing. Some fact, some fancy, but mostly just plain old bullsh*t!
As I often tell my lovely wife (still in); all ancient civilizations had their mythological writings including the Jews!

by Gorbatchov ingorby has had a personal paradigm shift lately.. from one point to an other i "feel" and "think" different about the jw subject.. - no more interest in doctrine.
- no more interest in things that happen 100 years ago into an religion.. - no more taking statements too serious.
it doesn't matter me at all what a generation doctrine change is all about, it doesn't matter me at all that brother elder said "blablabla boe!".

I know what you mean, I think, maybe, possibly.
I still like to read the posts on this site because they are mostly interesting, but all the false and ever changing doctrine of jw's, all the failed 'end of the world' predictions, all the hub bub about pedophiles, and all the bullshit about dumb ass elders, well those were just the vehicle to get me to where I'm at today. I'm content and happy not being under the oppressive influence of the wtbts. Still can't believe that I gave up nearly 55 years of my life. But it's all behind me now and life is good and so are 99% of the people that I meet.

JW hospitality
by Chook inabout 5 years ago when i was in, my son who at the time was 18 needed somewhere to sleep for a couple of nights due to work commitments ,in a city 2 hours from home.
my "best man" who is an elder that lives in this city , was asked could my son stay a couple of nights .
the response was he doesn't go to meetings anymore ,he can't stay here , i ask can he sleep on garage floor instead , still can't stay .
