I hope that they announce that the meetings will be shortened and that publishers can report fs time in 1 minute increments.

i'm curious if we will have eyewitness reporters at the stanley theater like we do every year....

so yeah, i was thinking about this.
marrying an unbeliever is considered to be wrong, but at the same time, it is not a disfellowshipping "offense".
well, the reason is simple: there is more to gain than to lose by not disfellowshipping.
So why not take the softer approach - make it permissible, with the hope that the believing one can eventually bring their mate AND any children that they may have into "the truth!"
So why not allow polygamy? By marrying multiple non-jw's, a jw could bring in a multitude to the borg!

when you were "in" did you ever actually enjoy the ministry?
and i made no secret about it.
instead i would joke about me feather knocking, and made sure i had my bible in hand so as they come to the door they know what im about so they can shut me down before i even start.. i always wondered how or why there were people who enjoyed it.
Now that jw's have nothing tangible to sell at the door and there is no revenue being generated from fs, the emphasis on fs has subsided and as a result, most have lost there 'zeal'.
I always hated fs.

i asked an old jw friend of mine why so many baptized individuals leave the jw religion.
"did it ever occur to you, old friend, that maybe they know something that you don't know and have valid reasons for leaving?
", i asked.. his response set me back for an answer.
I left after 55 years because, 1) I 'evidently' got tired of standing on the 'threshold' of something that 'clearly' wasn't happening, 2) because I was finally able to admit that all the bullsh*t doctrines of the wt made no sense, 3) and various other "overlapping" reasons.

what do you think the jw religion will be like in oct 2021?
if we go back five years from oct 2016 you get 2011. there was no jw.org, really pretty much no tablets, most people were using paper copies for everything.
now that's all changed.
The wt will be telling everyone that we are on the 'invisible' threshold of the 'new world'.
Jw's will be allowed to 'purchase' fs time. (Money instead of time)
Meetings will be available from the convenience of your own home, (for a small fee)!
Blood fractions will further "refined" to include damn near anything one's conscience will allow! (don't ask, don't tell)
Sisters will be allowed to give public talks. (An improvement over some bore-assing brothers!)

i will start this o.p by a review of the mental conditioni i find many former or current witnesses at when they join the board :-.
1. broken relationships.. 2. lonliness/ depression.
3. guilt / shame .
It's been a real pleasure to be part of this "online community" for the past few years. Like so many of us, I woke up many years ago but was so deep into the whole jw stuff it was 'impossible' to break away. About 55 plus years of servitude, 20 plus years as an elder, baptized at 12, regular pioneered for years, most of my family jw's and 'all' my friends jw's. Yep I was encased in jwdom.
As I woke up to reality, I had no one to talk to about my doubts and views. Since I had seen the wt organization from it's ugly underbelly, I knew it wasn't god's organization but simply another man-made religion. The problem is that there exists an almost unanimous unwillingness on the part of any jw's to discuss the failures of the wt. That very disturbing situation drove me to find this forum. Although I don't contribute many op's, I read nearly everyone's comments.Good to know that I'm not the only former jw that has found piece of mind and happiness away from the wt organization.

if you were part of a judicial committee, and knowing what you know now, what was it like for you to sit on jc’s?
how did you feel if someone was reproved or df’d?
were you ever on a jc and you disagreed with someone being reproved or df’d and were overruled – how did you feel?
For 20 plus years I was a serious, die hard elder. I worked hard at my elder "job" of setting a good example for family and congregation. Spent way too many hours away from my kids so I could prepare for meeting and talks. Sat in on many jc's but only agreed, reluctantly, to df one person. Because I was a contrarian during jc proceedings, always looking for the reason not to df, I was later on often not selected to be on the jc. praise jah! The endless meetings, after the meeting, really got to me. I could never do enough so I always felt a bit guilty and unfulfilled.
Fortunately I discovered ttatt and ended nearly 60 years of f.o.g. Life is good outside of the borg and at least I get to enjoy my grandchildren!

like the noah of old, (as described in the bible), are modern day jw’s just poor teachers?
i mean, noah, and i assume his family, preached for decades prior to the “deluge”.
they were “clearly” or “evidently” poor at convincing their contemporaries that a ‘flood’ was a comin’.
The idea that Noah was a "preacher" comes quite erroneously from a scripture in the New Testament and has no basis in the original story.
Mr Negative are you suggesting that the biblical accounts recorded in god's word the holy bible may not be factual and perhaps even exaggerated? Please say it ain't so!

I ask why jehober didn’t bless the “most important work” of that time which was the saving human lives.
I ask the same question today? There is theoretically 8 million jw’s out there preaching (or trying to sell their religion) to others. They are reportedly spending over a billion hours preaching, yet the number of about 8 million jw’s hasn’t grown much for the past 5/6 years. One would think that with 8 million teachers (salespersons) and jehober’s obvious blessing, that the growth would be tremendous.
Poor teachers, poor teachings, or no blessing from jehober?
