why did you start doubting the church?three things troubled me.
the church was involved in politics.
Every time my still-in wife relates these stories to me, I counter with, "Honey, every religion has their own version of this very same story. JW's are not unique with these type of experiences."
She quickly changes the subject but I know that she knows that it's true.

i consider the bible a work of fiction, and i consider the ot to be barbaric and the underlying theme for everything wrong with religion from jw to radical islam.
it's filled with man made analog thinking that people attribute to an all intelligent creature.
Biblical description--blood thirsty, vengeful, barbaric, jealous, childish, sexually depraved, tribal god=jehober!

get into the houses and get on their tv, make them see the roku remote so they must be compelled to put on the 'channel' its the channel for god!

when the gb meet on Wednesday they close the doors and an awe inspiring, magnificent light fills the room imbuing all of them simultaneously with holy spirit. Then they tell jokes and swap stories about what prophetic dreams they had that will, of course, result in the much anticipated nu-lite that all jw's will readily swallow. After that, of course, a democratic vote is taken (majority rules) to see which theocratic nu-lite item is really from jehober and which is from the delusional dream of some old cogger with a boner for 'tight pants'.

i know we must have alot ofpeople on here huge football fans like myself.
born and raised in boston, i am a huge sports fan, and of course patriots fan.
so anyone here go to another meeting, makeup some bs excuse, illness, flat out miss the meeting or anything else to watch game if your meeting happened to go from the 9am to the 3pm in january ?.
I often sacrifice seeing my favorite elders make a fool out of themselves at the meetings(parroting wt bs from the stage) so I can stay home and watch football! The football gods are like jehober. Sometimes they bless you and other times they curse you and you don't even know why.
So, because of my sacrifice, often I'm blessed with a really good game to watch. Of course, in the big picture, a football game doesn't really matter but it's so much more meaningful than a pubic talk followed by the wt indoctrination!

i know that a parable must never be made to walk on all four legs, that many of its elements are there to act as "fillers".. nevertheless, i wonder if i have missed something with the watchtower's "explanation" of the parable of the ten virgins.
they state that the parable relates to their anointed class.
but the wts also says that the 144,000 are the "bride".. so are the "anointed" part of the wedding party that is waiting outside as well as being the "bride" waiting inside?.
When I was young (6 decades ago), my mom use to tell me that when I grow up I could be anything that I wanted to be.
I suppose that's what jehober has told the 144,000 too.

we're all familiar with the organisations claims (and have seen the flow diagrams in books and mags) that the gb is "directed by god".
in turn, the local elders are "directed by god".
so, how exactly do they suppose this happens?
As someone once so accurately stated, "Let's review! IT'S A CULT!" End of story!
