The swords may have fell out of jehober's chariot as it sped past Eden headed back to heavenly "Pleiades where the eternal throne of jehober resides". It's possible!

i took an elderly friend to the meeting last night.
the study is in the "imitate their faith" book which is merely a compilation of previous short stories about bible characters that were featured in a series of watchtower articles.. they waste no time beginning their spinning and supposition with the cain/abel story.

On the Cain and Abel fable, I always wondered why jehober warned wicked, vile, evil no-good Cain about his evil intentions---but jehober didn't warn good, faithful, righteous Abel that his asshole brother was about to kill him? Would have no doubt f**k'd up the fable if the good guy would have defended himself.

i was invited to a small get-together by a long time friend.
we both served as elders for years.
he is in his late 70s.
So, apparently, there are hundreds of old JWs spread across the southwest who regularly meet together, openly criticize the WTS, and not once has anyone had an attack of conscience & blown the whistle to another JW loyalist?
I gotta say that I'm with sir82. This sounds like a crock! Sorry.

the 2015 annual meeting, specifically, part 1, right about minute 27, has anthony morris emphasizing that "you're better off reading one chapter (of the bible) and really absorbing it" than just reading the whole thing "as a challenge".
while i agree with the the whole idea of meditating on anything you read, it was doing this very thing that brought up so many unanswered questions.
i also came to the constant realization that the jws did not have a clue about what the bible really said.
Reading the bible at all is nothing to brag about! Greek mythology is much more interesting than Hebrew mythology!

there were at least four jw's to one lone man on the street.
they look to be mostly elders.
if they are ... is this the example they really want to set.
That was really not cool at all. Our 'beef' is with the borg, not the bro's. Why attack the sheeple? Remember that at one time we were all sheeple.

i remember a good friend when i was in and active who was d'fd.
when he started coming back, for me at that time is was gut-wrenching not to say 'hello' or at the very least encourage him to continue.
i thought even at this time, does this act of shunning really effective?
I was a 'bad' elder. I didn't shun. If I was ever 'called out' for not shunning, I simply replied that I was answering a legitimate question.

i have finally reached the point where i can forget that i was ever involved with such a $!%* cult as jehovahs witnesses.
(a situation that has taken over 20 years to achieve).. this discussion board certainly helped in this process, and i want to thank everybody for their support over the time that i have been a member both of this site and the old www.jehovahs-witness.com website (where i used the acronym reefton jack).
it is now, though, time to move on with my life, so i will say my farewells to everybody.. bill .
Have a great life Bill! I know that many of us here can relate to your feeling of 'freedom' and moving on in life. It's like being released from a prison. Experiencing life on the 'outside' is exhilarating. Breathing the fresh air of new and different ideas is fantastic. Having time to explore life without the 'ball and chain' of the wtbts is liberating. None of the constant and regimented obligations, meetings, fs, study your wt, CA's, RC's, clean the kh every other Saturday, donate, donate, donate, study, study, meeting, meeting. Being able to now view people, as 'worthy' and not 'worldly' is something that I really value. It's heart warming!

can you truly love someone if you dont fully trust them and you are not willing to confide in them?
true love is a two way street right?
i just listened to the 2015 agm broadcast.
