Amen smiddy!
I've mentioned this very point to my wife. OMG! The sirens went off in her head. Then about 3 months later I overheard her discussing this with another ubber dubber! Maybe logic will win her over!

did anybody else read this article and just think wth?.
sometimes god approves of war.. sometimes god doesn't approve of war.. when the israelites fought battles and won it was because god blessed them.. when they lost it was because god had not blessed them.. sometimes god fights for oppressed ones.. sometimes they must wait and have faith.. it is so clear that the bible contradicts itself on this issue and that the nation of israel had a totally different view of god than the early christians.
it is also clear that the nation of israel was highly superstitious and would attribute every battle's outcome to the whims of a higher power.

so they have a manual for protecting workers (to avoid lawsuits), but they don't have a comprehensive child protection policy or manual?.
What to do if you are seriously/critically injured on a watchtower construction site;
1) call the legal department (to make sure no one else knows about it--i.e. keep it secret)
2) if you are still alive seek medical treatment (best to choose medical treatment from some one that went on to a higher education medical school--gasp!)
3) in case of significant blood loss, kiss your a*s goodbye and wait for the "paradise" (it will be here sooooon--it's just around the corner)

so bethelites are being decreased...bethel homes even sold off.... special pioneers no longer being funded.. magazines getting smaller and published less frequently.. building work stopping or being reduced.. no large conventions and renting of venues.. etc.... so, money is not coming in anymore to cover the "expenses"??.
didnt the first ever watchtower said that when this occurs, it would be evidence of god no longer blessing the activity....
oh, and throughout the years, we have constantly been told that the "growth of the org and the projects such as buildings and contributions" etc were evidence of gods blessing.... .
I was basically a born in jw. 65 years a dub. 20 years as an elder. 5 years as as a ms. I began 'waking up' in earnest about 15 years ago and started my concentrated fade 5 years ago. I really think that most long term dubs (40+years as a dub) see whats happening and are uncomfortable but because their exists a cultural "unanimous unwillingness" to talk about their doubts, they remain publicly silent. However, I talk with with my life long jw friends nearly every day and hear their pain and dissatisfaction loud and clear. I encourage them as often as I can to search their heart and do what's right for them and their family. Unfortunately, the, "where else can we go" ,syndrome has them and I know that most of them will pass away still 'hoping' for that elusive "paradise earth". I'd pray for them, but the big guy in the sky has never answered me before so I doubt he's interested!

was just checking out the jdub website and came across their "legal developements and human rights" page.. http://www.jw.org/en/news/legal/.
notice the glaring absence of one paticular kind of "legal developements"?
pbrow.
Children don't have any rights! So sayeth the watchtower. So the next time your child is going to be molested---make sure he/she has 2 witlesses!

Sometimes God doesn't approve of war."
Sometimes God approves of adultery and sometimes he don't! (Abraham)
Sometimes God approves of lying and sometimes he don't! (Abraham)
Sometimes God approves of polygamy and sometimes he don't! (All kings of Israel)
He's God. He can do anything he wants! It was a preview how "new light" would work during da time of da end!

wondering what to think...i'm recently divorced from my jw spouse ( i was never a jw).
we have a 11 year old son who is being forced to attend meetings and have all the beliefs that ex has.
i'm constantly being told what i should do and i'm supposed to go along with ex on whatever he says because apparently the "head of the family" continues after divorce in his world.
Yep "brazen conduct" covers a multitude of sins my brother. It's another new phrase in the jw dictionary. According to the borg, the definition of 'brazen conduct'
= whatever the f**k we want it to mean. Tough s**t brother! Remember jehober trusts us!

millie210 posted this on another thread - i thought it deserved it's own op:.
i took an elderly friend to the meeting last night.
the study is in the "imitate their faith" book which is merely a compilation of previous short stories about bible characters that were featured in a series of watchtower articles.. they waste no time beginning their spinning and supposition with the cain/abel story.
The swords may have fell out of jehober's chariot as it sped past Eden headed back to heavenly "Pleiades where the eternal throne of jehober resides". It's possible!
