drop shunning or at least drop shunning among family members.
make blood transfusions a conscience matter, no more hlc.
drop the two witness rule, mandatory reporting of child abuse, no privileges for offenders.
Quit being a religion and become a genuine charitable organization.

god prohibited the eating of blood.
in genesis, leviticus and deuteronomy the edict is clear: "do not eat blood !
" when the apostles said "abstain from blood," jewish christians must have contextually understood that to mean "do not eat blood.
Mates, you all make some 'bloody' great points!

so i'm loving the fact that my little one gets to be a "normal" child and take part in everything at school.
however i still have that stupid niggling in the back of my head that she shouldn't be doing it and it's wrong etc.
at the moment she is rehearsing for the nativity play and keeps singing the songs at home (she is going to be an angel!
Shaking the shackles of a cult takes time. But it's worth every minute!

i am intrigued to know if there is truly any evidence of financial irregularities in the jehovah's witness organisation or if any one or group are raking off funds or benefitting financially...?.
whilst i disagree wholeheartedly with most of their teachings and practices, dogmatism, legalism and superiority complex, i don't honestly think there's anyone making millions at the top.
yes you could say that the gb are comfortably off, don't have to pay bills etc but they do actually get up in the morning and 'work', they aren't going off in private jets to tropical islands or driving bentleys.
Hopefully more jw's will begin to question where the money is going. I definitely try to help this subject gain traction every chance I get. For example, after each 'assembly day' I ask various brothers why a one day assembly now costs nearly 4 times as much as in previous years. I've talked to several of my friendly elder buddies about the new 'business model' of eternal payments (everlasting leases) on the KH properties Many seem to be unaware of the 'drastic' increased cost. If we can somehow keep this "money" subject active, I think that it could eventually force the borg at least take notice. Inquiring minds want to know. When you start screwing with a man's money, they start taking notice!

it seems there is still need to explain the this generation fable again, now by a helper of the teaching committee with of course a guest role of david splane, the teacher of the gb.. fun!
(and fellow jw's, do you get it now?!?).

Another great example of a 'white American man' telling the world of jw's how and what to believe. God bless America! lol

here is something that i don't get, the wtbts bangs on bout the value of life & how we shouldn't take chances with it cause it would be disrespectful to jah.
g. yeah, like parachuting/sky diving/speeding & all that.
however, they say naf all about surfing do they.

"But no, nothing. You know why? cause they would lose half the bro's in Australia. I bet if you asked them they would say "Well it's a conscience matter".
The same is true if the borg started telling jw's not to go to Disneyland------------------------The Magic Kingdom. All kinds of 'warnings' about the 'danger' of the occult, wizards, magic, supernatural, and smurfs, but not a damn word about The Magic Kingdom!
"But no, nothing. You know why? cause they would lose half the bro's in The USA I bet if you asked them they would say "Well it's a conscience matter".

so i've been reading the imitate their faith book (because my wife wants to) and keep coming upon these ridiculous ages for the bible patriarchs.
now i know wt takes everything literally but there has got to be some explanation that makes more sense.
why would the bible writers create these obviously false ages?
It's called Hebrew mythology. Almost as interesting as Egyptian and Greek mythology.

we had this plan of action with our kid's, if they asked us a question that we deemed they were to young to know about we would divert their attention, oh, could you fetch mummy her cardi, i'm feeling abit cold, there's some sweets in my pocket, would you like one etc, you get the idea.
usually this would be enough & they would forget about what they had asked.
when they wern't diverted & asked again we would provide an honest explanation suitable for their age.
One day, many, many years ago as I was watching a football game, my wife comes in and says; “It’s time for The Talk.” She then explained to me that our 7 year old son had just come in from playing outside with some of the ‘worldly’ neighbor kids and asked her the inevitable questions; “where did I come from-how did I get here?” Wow! Ok! So I sat down (at half time) with our 7 year old and I said “Let’s have The Talk!” For the next 25-30 minutes I then proceeded to give our son The Talk. ‘Masterfully’ , I explained all about the penis, the vagina, the sperm, the ovum, etc., etc., and the proper use of such. I even drew little illustrations to help me explain this delicate subject. I did good and amazingly, he actually paid very close attention. When we finished The Talk, I asked if that helped him to understand ‘where he came from and how he got here’. He said yes and thanked me for The Talk. Of course being a little curious and a little concerned about him playing with ‘worldly’ neighbor kids, I casually asked him, “any reason why you wanted to know about this stuff right now”?
His reply; “Yea, the new kids, Jimmy and Billy, said they came from Chicago and they got here by bus!”

when speaking with brothers, i can see they really like the jw.org site more than magazines and books.
i can imagine them publishing more and more articles and news as it's more dynamic and creates a sense of alert with brothers looking for new articles to read instead of the boring monthly magazines.. but when it comes to the jw broadcasting, it's something different.
even elders admit they aren't watching the monthly broadcastings.
I agree with several of the posters about how absolutely dumbass these broadcasts make the gb members appear! Even my uber wife sometimes makes disparaging remarks about these presentations.
One thing that non American audiences need to understand is that the wtbts is an American religion. They rest of you are step children in their view.
the internet is a great tool as we all know.
i found this quote from the early book millions now living will never die to be very interesting as it seems to be the exact opposite of what jdubya's practice.
just another example of the double-speak they engage in.
Error always seeks the dark, while truth is always enhanced by the light. Error never desires to be investigated.
If you believe all the teachings of the wtbts, then you will not investigate.
However, if you doubt any of the teachings of the wtbts, the wtbts will investigate you!
