  Is the WT’s Paradise Earth doctrine a delusion?

  the wt’s teaching that humans will live forever on a paradise earth will necessitate that given that there will be no more death, then immortal humans will have to be relocated to other planets in order to prevent the earth from becoming overpopulated.. so how many habitable, earth-like planets are there?more and more habitable, earth-like planets would have to become available on a continuous, never-ending basis ad infinitum as mankind’s population grows given that there will be no more death.. the longevity/sustainability of life on these planets will be limited by the fact that the sun serving these planets will eventually die:https://shar.es/1cko6n.

  JW TV Monthly Broadcast - 3rd unofficial Meeting!

  did any one notice that the monthly broadcast on jw tv is being treated like a meeting similar to the old book study arrangement?.

  at our kh, in uk, all congregations meeting at the hall have a monthly arrangement for this.

  some have a group arrangement and alternate between family homes to watch the broadcast and some use the kh on weekends.. this arrangement in our congregation, at least, is being treated as a meeting for each of the groups.

  I've watched a few of the broadcasts out of curiosity. How he hell can anyone who has been a long time dub watch them without getting a little nauseated? Amateur hour all the way.

  many posters quote geoffrey jackson as saying " it would be presumptuous" to say that the gb is jehovah's sole spokesperson on earth.. what he actually said was that "it would seem to be quite presumptuous".

  this is actually very clever, as adding "seem" to the sentence leaves the possibility that it isn't presumptuous to call themselves "jehovah's sole channel".

  (at least in their eyes).

  What a great provision from jehober. We put our grand kids in SKI school this year. We had some great snow this year and they loved learning how to ski and snow board. My wife and I made them breakfast every morning. It was a great week indeed to see their little faces enjoying one of life's little pleasures.

  Oh wait, is this OP about SKI school (fun) or about the SKE school (bs indoctrination). I'm confused! lol

  i was just sitting here on this beautiful saturday afternoon thinking about how thankful i am that i left the jws.

  do i wish i had woke up and left sooner, sure.

  but i'm definitely happy that i'm out period, and for so many reasons but i just will share a few.

  It's sort of nice how that works. I mean having time to really enjoy life. No more "busy work" like, getting ready for meetings, studying for meetings, going to the meetings, field serve-us, preparing for field serve-us, days of going to assemblies and conventions, giving talks or other meeting parts, hours of preparing talks or other meeting parts, weeks of kh building, hours kh cleaning, hosting speakers, etc.

  Having time for family, leisure, hobbies, and passions is invaluable. Yep, So thankful!

  Ray said that when he became a gb member that ,"illusions there met up with reality"! When one wakes up to ttatt, we have that same experience. Being a dub is a life long pursuit of illusions!

  Back to the OP though, none of the current gb dudes have enough ambition to leave. They are all just fat f*#king lazy cats that "have it made in the shade" so to speak. Some may one day wake up to ttatt (maybe already have) BUT they saw what happened to Ray and they are not going to trade their life of celebrity for one of poverty!

  few of your are old enough to have been there, i suspect.

  i had been in prison two years as a jw conscientious objector when the exciting news about 1975 spread like wildfire.. .

  i was paroled from prison in 1969 and immediately began pioneering.

  Yea Terry, 1975 I was there also! You pretty much summed it up very concisely. Stunned! Demoralized! And the hardest part for me was the almost unanimous unwillingness to even talk about what didn't happen.

  I served 18 months in Stafford AZ. Got out in late 1969. Pioneered until the first child came along. Appointed as an elder in 1972 at age 23! lol Worked my ass off for the borg to the detriment of my very young family. Skipped university training and good career opportunities because the 1969 Awake mag told us all that; "if you are a young person, you will never grow old in this system". lol

  My wife didn't start drinking after the 'big disappointment' but she did leave me in 1977 to 'test drive' other men. Can't really blame her for everything that happened. She was definitely neglected along with my 2 children. I was too busy doing god's work for the borg!

  We got back together and even tried to get re-energized in the troof. It worked for many years but the last decade I have been mentally out and now very seldom go to any jw functions. When I do go, it's so my wife of 49 year won't have to go alone. Learning ttatt gave me some sort of life back and I'm enjoying everyday away from the borg.

  I love your posts and hope you continue.

  but all the official jewish calendars has nissan 14 as april 22!

  i pay attention to what other writers write about writing.

  writers always have limits--even writers of fiction.. do you choose to live in a world where pigs fly and deuces are wild?

  I really like this post. Please continue the great writing. If you had been head of the WT writing committee, we might all still be dubs! Right? lol

  Nearly all ancient civilizations had their mythology writers. Those mythology writers were, in many instances, national treasures for the simple reason that they spun amazing yarns about fantastic shit that glorified/perpetuated their society or otherwise entertained the masses. No reason that the Hebrews wouldn't have their mythology writers also.
