i perfectly remember that, rehearsing with mom, trying to read with enough emphasis and in a proper tone.
i was 5 years old, back then in 1996 i think, and the portion was james 5:1-13.... i found today that i still know the first verses by heart!!!
it's actually a cherished memory for me, i came to memorize those because mom had me starting the reading all over again until i got to read it properly... and in time!!!
Mine was in 1955. I was 8 yo. It was in 1 Kings and I read it so many times that I nearly memorized it. Spent the next 5 decades diligently teaching others about shit that is no longer the "truth". Lesson learned. TTATT freed me and it feels good.

my writing a book about my strange life as a jw.
i need some help.. does anyone remember when they used to get these charts out at the service meetings which had all the hours, "back calls" and bible studies on it?
what did they call that?.
I remember the jw's in our area referring to interested persons, bible students (ones with whom a bible study was being conducted) as "good wills" during the 50's.

2 questions remain in the passing of brother prince:.
will an autopsy, that won't be made available for several weeks, reveal that he died of a drug overdose?.
did prince bequeath a large sum of money to watchtower corporation upon his passing?.
Prince was a "new age" jw. If you got the $$$$$, you can be anything else you want to be and it's ok with big J.

the january 8, 2000 awake magazine published an article "the growing demand for bloodless medicine and surgery".
this article has been quoted extensively by jws as support for their "scientific" justification for refusing blood products.. a quote from that article that is familiar to most jws and exjws is this one:.
“all those dealing with blood and caring for surgical patients have to consider bloodless surgery.”—dr.

of course this thread is inspired by princes sad death , yet i wonder how the average j.w.
nowadays.. from what i have gleaned from the many threads about his death their seems to be a reverence about him even on pro-j.w.
sites.. i have been out for about 25 years , yet in my time in the "truth" anything that put you on a pedestal was a no , no.. competition in any form was discouraged , sports especially.
The fat boys of the GB are all 'rock stars' now so it must be ok!
