We can surely see how loving jehober is! When a person is starving, cold, and tired, only literature from the watchtower can be truly comforting!

due to family reasons gorby was present today.. the watchtower study was about refugee's.. how to treat refugee's, jw and non believers, and help them spiritual, not financial.
nothing new.. what i mentioned is the juridical message underneath the whole story.
don't talk politics, listen to government regulations etc.. most bizar is that a whole congregation that normaly avoid giving any aid to people in need, this morning gave the best practice in word about what to do with refugee's.. if the subject was not that serious, this hypocracy could be funny.

ancelink10 hours ago10 hours ago11 hours agoWhen I was in, they constantly used the example of Noah regarding how hard we should be working.
Noah had to :
1) build the ark
2) preach nonstop to the people
Don't forget that Noah was a very shit*y preacher/teacher. Not even 1 person did he or his family convert in their 40 or so years of preaching!

“more than material assistance, refugees need spiritual and emotional support.
(matt.
4:4) elders can help by obtaining literature in the language of the refugees and by helping them contact brothers who speak their language.
Spiritual food. lol
Yes spiritual food is much like Christ's presence since 1914. Invisible!

how can we briefly make a calm, dignified point to witnesses we care about such as family or friends?
how can we make them think?.
here are a couple of well known scriptures: (from the revised new world translation.
Yep, I can vividly remember using an illustration that I and many other elders used in our "encouraging" talks to the congregation. The illustration was;
"If you knew that your water supply had just one little drop of poison in it, would you drink it?"
Maybe jehober protects "his people" from poison! NOT

i am interested in getting people's thoughts on this.
on average 40 thousand people leave the organisation yearly for one reason or another.
the experiences all over the media are proof of this.
How about really applying the verse at James 1:27
27 The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation,
Take care of the widows and orphans

i said god is not giving them much of a chance to hear his message, i think it's one to 3 million ratio.
i said if wt paid prime internet space they could beam their propaganda to everyone instantly, then you could show the world mr lett live , and explain how he is to rule the world from heaven.
then i asked that god seems to like the anglo nations , i should of asked how many chinese and indian are on the gb..
Yes we have to admit that jehober certainly loves white anglos and especially americans. All 'new' publications are published in the american english language and only years later make it to other languages.
I remember the big event when the new bible, the silver sword, was released at the anal meeting. All the english speaking world was just gushing over how jehober was blessing them with this marvelous gift. Guess jehober didn't like the non english speaking jw's as much!

Recently a friend of ours died at a rather young age. So one of her family members, a regular pioneer, attended the memorial along with several non jw family members that also attended the memorial.
The next day, the pioneer sister called my wife and the only thing that she could talk about was how much "time she got in" witnessing to the non jw's at the memorial.
Thank god for death and memorial services so that a pioneer can "get their time in".

threads about jw urban legends are nothing new on this forum.
they are loads of fun to read.
how many of you remember the one about the teenager who skipped the meeting and decided to get into a car with his worldly friends and they worldly guys decided to rob a store and the jw didn't know they were going to do so but he was arrested simply for being with them?.
I loved the “urban legend” about an approaching typhoon and how all the local residents were told to evacuate and head for higher ground. However, it just so happened that it was meeting night for jw’s so the jw’s decided to attend the meeting and ignore the warning to evacuate. And what do you know, 30 or 40 jw’s perished that night even though they were inside the kingdom hall worshiping their god!
Oh maybe that was a true story! Anyone else hear that one?

it was a wtf moment .
the movie is on netflix called american violence.. it was a non block buster hit.
any way the time stamp is 1: 38: 42. if anyone is interested.
Or was it the 'green bible'? OMG how I hated carrying around a green freaking bible back in the day! Anything to be different from other religions!

i was thinking of my co grandfather who passed on a few years ago.
his wife my grandmother passed on in 99. i can remember him saying "i know after armageddon i can not be married to her but maybe we can live next to each other.
not sure where the cult stands on this issue today.
This touchy subject came up often when I was an elder. Many older ones who had been together for 50+ years seemed to be broken by the prospect of not being with their former mate in the "paradise earth".
I used to try to comfort them by telling them that we just don't know how it will be in the "paradise". My reasoning was that in the 'new system' when someone is resurrected and they have family members there to greet them, there children will still be their children, their parents will still be their parents, grand children still their grand children, etc. That the only fleshly relationship that will not be the same is the marriage mate.? Marriage is the most intimate fleshly relationship mankind can have, originated by god himself, but it's the only one dissolved in the "paradise"? lol
