Me thinks that the entire gb are 'mentally diseased' but Lett, well he is also facially diseased!

i have been thinking about the mentally diseased belief/doctrine of jw's lately and the thread the other day about the mentally challenged child who was brutally (and humorously) honest at a convention got me to wonder something.
it seems to me that jw's use 'mentally diseased' in such a derogatory way as if it is a failing on the part of the person, or almost sinful (demons?
), or perhaps that person should just be dismissed on all counts all the time.
Me thinks that the entire gb are 'mentally diseased' but Lett, well he is also facially diseased!

i've picked up from several replies to posts here that the org has stopped using the term "worldly" as it applies to people.
this must have happened after i left.
would someone be so kind as to explain the "rationale" behind this shift?
More mish mash from the creators of the distinction at john 1;1 were the word "god" becomes "a god". It's part of the "pure language". Listen, obey, and shut up!

why did jesus supposedly cast the demons into a herd of pigs?.
(matt 8 / luke 8).
and, how were there so many demons inside one man, that when "released" by jesus, it took a whole pack of pigs to contain them??.
Mythology strikes again! How does chasing a bunch of pork chops off a cliff destroy the demons inside of them? The pigs might have committed suicide, but spirit creatures (Mythological creatures) certainly wouldn't die from a mere fall off the cliff. So why kill the pork chops? If this story sounds like pig sh*t, and if it smells like pig sh*t, then it must be true---right?

i think it would be great for the gb to clearly define the scriptures that are intended towards the 'anointed' who are already counted, depending on who you believe, and the remainder of scriptures intended for the rest of the followers.
that way there is no confusion during biblical discussions about how little of the bible actually has to do for the great crowd.
and so new studies can clearly see, defined, how little of the bible god cared to preserve for the great crowd.. further it would be useful to know from the gb what scriptures are believed to be literal and which are solely spiritual.. just an idea.
If the wtbts/gb were to ever make such a delineation, they would absolutely lose all their power and or their mystic.
The switching back and forth between what applies to the anointed and the r and f. between what is literal and what is not literal is what gives them the power. Only they can make that distinction! Only they have such deep insight to the bible! Therefore WE NEED them or we are lost!--Problem solved!
Given the FACT that the bible, as we know it, is nothing more than Hebrew mythology it can be applied anyway one wants to believe or be convinced to believe. IMHO, I don't believe many jw's that truly believe everything that is in the bible. Even when I was a gong hoo jw for over 50 years, I had a very difficult time truly believing in those mythological bullsh*t stories!
talking snake, noah's floating zoo, walls falling down at a trumpet blast, red sea just parting, etc., etc.!

i would like to remind those folks younger than i that it was very few years ago when almost the entire planet earth was run by and for the benefit of men.women have throughout history been the property of men.due to religious restrictions, teachings, and fundamentalist doctrines, women in the largest societies on earth right now (muslim, chinese, n.korean) have almost no human rights at all.next year, in june, women will, for the 1st time, be allowed in arabia to drive---but--only if they are 30 years old or older, and for only a few hours per day!the old testament laws (read through them sometime) are horrifying reflective of prejudice toward gender, bodily cleanliness, guilt-tripping, and anonymity.
(what was noah's wife's name?
lot's wife?
All bible readers, including jw's and ex-jw's, certainly have the bible to thank for the way women are viewed in society. In the bible, women are possessions and are owned by men. All the outstanding male bible characters were rewarded (or punished-lol) with multiple wives for their pleasure. I don't recall too many women in the bible that were allowed to have multiple husbands.
Yes Hebrew mythology, that is called the bible, has much to do with the way women are viewed and treated even to this day IMHO! After all, men have the god given right to treat women as inferior--right? I believe that in an unconsciousness manner that I also may have been guilty of viewing my wife in a biblical setting as inferior and not as important as a man. As i reflect back on my uber jw days, shame on me. It will never happen again!

what is he like in person?
he seems deranged.
do people get irritated at being spoken to like a 3 year old when they hear him speak?.
No---but I have met other real life clowns!

one thing that bothers me greatly is the fact that they can change their policies and beliefs and just say its "new light" and no one bats an eyelid.. there are many scriptures such as isaiah 40:8 "the word of god will last to time indefinite.
" or hebrews 6:18 "it is impossible for god to lie".
if he is "spirit directing" the borg then there should be no need for new light..
I have had this very discussion many times with my wife and mother in law since I have successfully faded and of course they always come back to me with the "company line" in Proverbs 4:8 which we all know is bs.
So this is how I have tried to reason with them:
I have no problem with the FACT that the wtbts (or any other organization) comes up with new understandings and/or teachings, especially when the shelf life of some of their 'old' understandings expire. The real problem is that the wtbts labels ALL of their teachings and doctrines "the truth" and since (by the very definition of truth) "the truth" cannot and does not ever change, labeling wtbts teachings "the truth" is a serious misnomer. So while it is not necessarily wrong to change a teaching or understanding when new information comes to light, it is very wrong for the wtbts to sanctimoniously and piously label their dogma "the truth" when in fact, it is only their best guess! Knowing the truth of this fact about "the truth" really does set one free!

yesterday’s watchtower talked about how by becoming a jw it enabled “worldly” people to ‘strip off the old personality’ and make really significantly good changes in their life.. paragraph named 4 individuals (anonymous names of course and probably embellished tales)) sakura, ribeiro, stephen, and hans.
their lives changed for the good because they found god or because they became jw’s---right?.
so on the way home from this wt meeting, my wife commented to me how wonderful our brotherhood is and how it helps people who would otherwise be ‘lost’ n this world.

So on the way home from this wt meeting, my wife commented to me how wonderful our brotherhood is and how it helps people who would otherwise be ‘lost’ n this world. I listened and I agreed that it is certainly nice to hear about someone who is able to change their life for the better. I then mentioned to her that you have to realize that these types of success stories are not unique to jw’s. All religions and other organizations, such as AA, have the same types of experiences. She went silent but I could see that she heard what I said.

just got the news.
a very close classmate of mine met an accident and died last nite.... just 4 months after i da'd from the borg.. if i am still in, i wouldn't be so sad.
he has the hope of resurrection.. but now that i am out, i realise that resurrection in paradise is all bullshit.. so what's next?
When I was a child, I hoped that Santa Claus would bring me gifts for Christmas--and he did! At Easter I hoped that the Easter Bunny would bring candy--an she did! When I put my baby tooth under the pillow, I hoped that the Tooth Fairy would leave me some money--and they did!
When I grew up and learned the truth about Santa, The Bunny, and The Fairy, it didn't shatter my world! So what I'm saying is that your parents and/or other authoritative figures teach/tell you things that are just not true to give us a feeling of happiness. When we see the truth of the matter it shouldn't have a major impact on our lives. It's just what it is, a happy concept to make us look forward to something good.

up until the very end, my mother refused blood.
it didn't matter if it was a blurred line or not, the bible says "no blood"!
i wonder if she was in the minority, in her thinking.
I routinely 'give blood' at least 4-5 times a year. It's when I go to my doctor. So do most jw's when they have several vials of blood drawn and sent to some laboratory to be analyzed and checked to determine their health especially when looking for a specific marker in their blood. So it's okay to 'donate' blood when it's going to be used (analyzed in a lab) to help the medical profession determine if a faithful jw has some medical condition that may be treated and prevent their death?
But if death is staring a faithful jw in the face and administering blood id the only alternative the medical profession has to save their life, blood suddenly becomes sacred?
