need to get this off my chest.
i've been doing this job for 10 years now since i qualified as a staff nurse in 1994, i think i've worked hard to get to the position i am now in which is acting ward manager of a busy surgical ward.
since my student nurse training days a certain staff nurse has been working on the same ward as me for most of that time, someone who qualified way before i did.
I have had to deal with this kind of situation myself and being that stand-up kinda guy I am I dont put up with it. You did the right thing! Here are some links to my Livejournal so you can read what I have had to deal with at my job and how I dealt with it.

Politics will ALWAYS be a forum for constant arguement and debate so there is nothing that would make me like the subject.
I define politics as anything to do with the decision making of our government or anything to do with any office of our government. Anything to do with government and all of the debates that exist therein.

Crinklestein, normally I would agree with you. I almost let this bother me. But I know my mother is concerned with this but, abuse is such a sensitive subject for her. It brings up her own feelings she is too afraid to deal with. Yes it is selfish on her part but unfortunately that is the way it is. I can either stay angry or move on. I chose to move on and have the best relationship with my mother as I possibly can.She has apologized and cried with me over my father abusing me. I just wish she would get help herself for her own problems. But I cannot force her.
I know it is eating away at her and if I do confront the elders it will be on the molestation and the UN scandal. I will let my mother know what they said about both subjects.

So the elder's defending your Dad and covering up the molestation is an error of being human and requires no further investigation or concern.
But the FDS covering up the UN scandal peaks your mom's interest and wants all the facts she can get on it? AND wants to be present when you talk to the elders?

Perhaps the POINT of this thread is to show that contrary to some views expressed, not every soldier in an American uniform is a paragon of virtue, a brave defender of liberty and a crusader to truth and justice. They are just like everyone else - the same mix of good and bad, no better, no worse. Same as every other country, UK included.
I have to agree with you there. In fact, where I live, the soldiers are down right idiotic! I've never seen such uneducated, stupid-ass people in my life! And to think these morons are charged with the protection of this country...
