Yes in the states we have the History Channel and it does quite a lot of history of engineering and ships and all that good stuff -- not justUS stuff either -- there have been a number about constructing the channel tunnel etc.

Underhanded Means and Trickery
by dawn27 indid the elders ever try to trick you into saying too much or even trick you into having to meet with them after you said that you wouldn't?
here is my dilema: i have been inactive for about 18 mnths and moved out of the area, got a new phone number, ect.
i have had the best of both worlds, a good relationship with my family (because i'm not df'd or da'd) and freedom from the borg.

I was asked by the elders to befriend a brother and later he was disfellwoshipped for apostasy -- then I was made an elder myself -- and where theocratic warfare strategy is involved believe me -- the policy is - - if in doubt disfellowship -- ask questions later -- you are right to be paranoid -- they will be quite willing to lie through their teeth -and an elders wife is classed as a valid 2nd witness - so be careful please

Jesus did recognize and use God's name.....but, it wasn't jehovah

of course, that verse is the so called model prayer, and contrary to the beliefs of many it does highlight god's name.. as jesus said -"let us pray then this way - our father who art in heaven, harold be thy name....... so once again, the witnesses have got it wrong.
they should refer to themselves as harold's witnesses, and they should be doing harry's will.

noticed Yeheshua, in the "Insight" volumes, but think it suspect.
The name is identical to Joshua, but some prefer a pronunciation of Yahshua (Yah [saves/is salvation]).As for the Father's name - Jesus isn't recorded as repeating it.
Little Toe you are correct of course -- but honestly -I did not get Yeheshua ben Joseph from the Insight book -- I got it from "When Jesus Became God" and sadly I can not remember the author -

biggest WTBTS threat
by stillajwexelder insorry if there has already been a thread on this subject.
do you think a really big threat to the wtbts is from people like me who are still witnesses and in the organization but also post on this board and have an open mind -- or do you think there are bigger threats -and if so what would they be?

I know the last few meetings I attended before leaving were agonizing to me. I remember waiting for the first scripture to be cited at the Public Talk so I would have an excuse of reading the Bible for the rest of the hour. I finally just stopped attending because I had such a critical view of everything that was going on. I couldn't stand it a moment longer.
I am getting to that stage -- biggest reason family -- I know I am being a hypocrite -- and I am trying to have the best of both worlds-- in the meantime just gathering info from you guys on this board -- scrptures to use etc
