I totally forgot to tell you the rest of the story.
My niece was going to go with me but decided not to at the last minute. Actually I made her leave the restaurant before eveyone got there because she started asking questions like:
Am I going to get a demon in me?
If I'm trying to get reinstated and I go to the Kingdom Hall, will I be able to walk in? Apparently she thinks if she has a demon in her Jah's spirit will keep her from walking in the KH. LOL
It saddens me that it is my very own niece I am talking about here. I wish she was smarter (more educated) than that and less emotional.
Well, once she left she called her uncle, my brother and made sure he was aware that she was not going to the restaurant with me only dropping me off. LOL
She told him: "I don't want you thinking I'm an apostate" To which he said, "ok, just my siter is." and according to my niece laughed a little.
I'm just going to leave the subject alone with him and if he ver asks me anything I'll talk to him about it.
Thanks for your opinions and advice.

Thanks undercover for your input. i probably will not say anything further. I'm sure my brother will not want to talk about it either.

Ok, this past Friday I organized a meetup for ex-witnesses in my local area. I invited my brother who was never baptized (was almost baptized at 13 but one of the elders asked him to wait till he studied throught he second book). After the elder asked him to wait he never attended the meetings again with the exception of memorials and some assemblies.
My family and myself guessed that he was humiliated, my df'ed dad still has some resentment and sadness over the whole ordeal. Sometimes he says if they'd a let my brother get baptized he would be in the "truth" now.
Well, whenever we would ask my brother about the "truth" he would never answer us to the point of completely ignoring us. This went on for years and years and even now he will never give you anything but a shrug. It's very strange.
Ok, so back to my point. I invited him on Friday night and told him the truth about who I was meeting.
His response:
First he kind of laughed and said: "ok, what are you guys going to do, talk a bunch of crap"
I said: "Maybe" kind of joking (Bad response but I was surprised by his response)
then he just said: "that's alright I don't want to go."
I really am taken back by his response. I thought my brother was more open-minded and educated than that. I had hoped his silence all these years was just to keep peace. But he is still in such fear of the organization's falsehoods. This is very sad.
I really want to talk to him about it but I am afraid to now. What should I say or ask him?

My sister and I used to fight over clothes. I used to barrow her clothes and we'd fight before leaving for the KH. She'd yell at me to give back whatever I took because she's planned on wearing it.
This went on for years even as adults. LOL These memories are not really the bad ones though. They make me laugh now.
LOL, my dad would yell at us "stop fighting, you guys sound like catholics, not real christians."
I know this was very judgemental of my dad but to this day those kind of comments from him make me laugh. -

Well my Dad is disfellowshipped so they don't give him any say on running the house anymore. Actually my mom was always the more dominant one but that isn't saying much. She lets her kids run her now, certain ones of course. Maybe i should be saying this to my therapist. LOL

When I was younger my family would go to relatives for Thanksgiving and not blink in eye. Now that my brother runs the family my mom acts like she never does anything against the org.
It really makes me mad that she is so fearful of my brother.

Family Reunion
by Cori inthis past weekend, i attended my family's annual reunion (scheduled a week before thanksgiving, and they served turkey...hmmm) and became literally sick because they are all jw and talked of nothing else.
i finally realized how sad the normal jw's life is.
they really have nothing else going for them, thats why the thought of leaving is so unbelievable.

It's almost like all of our parents are the sme littel bobbleheads with different face stickers.
LOL, that is sooooo true. Scary, true.I've gotten the same lecture from my parents as well. Except, they'll add themselves in it...
"We got to get our act together, Jehovah is not going to wait for us." My mom is a rare attender and my dad is df'ed, never attends. When they get scared over current events I get this type of lecture.

My Df'ed Dad said "sure" but my mom said no "we'll have to pass."First she said: "Thursday, isn't that Thanksgiving Day?"
I said yes, does it matter? HA HA.. I'm so dumb sometimes. But, in my defense I'll say this...
If it wasn't for her fear of my ritchie righteous brother she would come without hesitation.
After all, she goes to casinos and buys lottery tickets and keeps it on the down low so my holy brother won't find out.
So, now my mom knows I'm going to celebrate Thanksgiving. I really don't care though. I was just surprised she turned down my invitation.
I know I shouldn't be but I really thought she would come and try and keep it from my brother.
Maybe I should have said we are going for turkey at the Casino on Thursday. Do you want to come with us? LOL
