Just curious . . . How long have you been doing this? It seems like it would be difficult not to get caught. How do you know who is "ripe for the picking" I assume you choose carefully who you help out.

I made contact after 15+ years
by Jourles ini finally made contact with an exjw sister that i knew while growing up.
let me explain.... when i was young(pre-teen to late teens), my family met at her parents house for book study.
her family was always considered one of the more "spiritual" families in the hall, if not the entire surrounding area.

Welcome Gadfly! It's funny how the witnesses look on us with pity. They think b/c we are no longer active dubs we must be seriously depressed or involved in some immoral self-destructive behavior. I have never been more sane or happier in my life. They just don't get that. They cannot believe that someone could actually be happy w/out their mind-controlling religion. My family thinks I am blinded by Satan at the moment. They are all depressed with money and relationship problems and blame it all on Satan and his evil world. They don't seem to stop for one second to think "Hey maybe I can actually take control of my own life and make some changes to better my situation" I am so grateful that I was able to see the "light" and get my life together. I realize that my family only goes to the KH out of total fear. They are so afraid that armageddon can come any second. So if they go to the KH and study their WT and spend a few hours preaching JAh will spare them. If I could just say something to them to stop them in their tracks and make them doubt. But the fear is so strong and sometimes I'm afraid myself for them . . . What happens if they do doubt it all. I worry that they couldn't handle it, mentally.

Thanks Tweetie, I will definitely check that book out. Hotel Rwanda was an excellent movie, so moving. The kind of courage some people have is absolutely astonishing. I like to think I have that kind of courage. I know for my loved ones I'd die or fight for but total stangers . . . well that is something different.

I'm going out today to pick up a copy of "My Sister's Keeper" about a girl who was conceived to save her sister from cancer. At some point she decides she doesn't want to help her sister. I'm trying to read more novels myself.

Is anyone interested in an online book club? What are you reading now? What type of books do you enjoy reading? I'm almost finished with "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. I normally like to read non0fiction but this is a great novel.

I found a website where I can buy 56 episodes (on DVD) of Rhoda for a total of $66 includes tax and shipping. I'm just a little hesitant b/c I don't know anyone personally, whose purchased from this guy. I really wish they'd release it to DVD.

Anybody know of any trusted sites to find such things. I found one online so far but I'm leery, as always, about this kind of stuff. I don't want to get ripped off.

Do you have questions about your car I can answer!
by hambeak ini thought with jakes help i might start something different.
since he is a master tech with 33 years experience, and ford and toyota factory trained maybe you might have some questions about your car and i could give you some good advice to save you some money.. i usually charge $80.00 for a diagnostic at my shop, so get on board and save some money sorry for the brits but i think your cars are somewhat different as far as emission controls are but mechanically the same so let the questions begin..
