I thought with Jakes help I might start something different. Since he is a master tech with 33 years experience, and ford and toyota factory trained maybe you might have some questions about your car and I could give you some good advice to save you some money.

I usually charge $80.00 for a diagnostic at my shop, So get on board and save some money sorry for the brits but I think your cars are somewhat different as far as emission controls are but mechanically the same so let the questions begin.

My check engine light is constantly on (when the car is running, obviously). It's a 2000 nissan sentra 4-door . . . any idea what it could be?

    What an excellent idea hambeak!!!

Yes. I do have a question. Sorry, but the car is GM. I had to sell my Mustange GT The car I'm referring to is a ' 02 Pontiac Bonneville.

Problem #1: When you turn the steering wheel to go around a corner the front end clunks.

Problem #2: On the driver's side floor, the carpeting is always wet. Something plugged so that rain water comes in?

Have to take it in to find out what is going on. I really appreciate your input. Thanks hambeak and Jake.

Yes more than likely your 02 sensors have failed if it is bank 1 sensor 1 or bank 2 sensor 2 most likely the cat has failed as well. Have a qualified mechanic scan your cars computer and get the codes out and that will tell you for sure. Be sure not to use Pennzoil in your nissan as it will cause oil leaks.

in the past my check engine light was on cause the battery was bad..couldnt figure the problem out, went thru and thru it{toyota camry},bought a new battery, adios check engine light..also,if you dont have the gas cap on tightly, itll do something w/the fuel vacuume and make the light come on.ive helped that by turning the cap 3 extra turns.and then after 1 or 2 tanks of gas itll stop..of course, you couls have something REALLY wrong w/your car.these are just things that i have found out about w/my cars...ask the experts.i guess they will konw more..cool idea guys!!!

Juni yours is very simple 1 your cv axle is more than likely broken and needs to be replace about a 220.00 repair the leak is probably from your drain tube in the front of the dash all it needs is to be redirected to the outside so it will drain on the ground and not your floorboard

I just bought a Toyota Yaris 2007, sedan, and I love it.

I have only 250km on it now. Is it true that there is a break in period of 1600km where I have to drive slowly and not go at constant speeds......

    Also, I'm not comfortable with a 1st oil change at 8000km. I rather make a 1st one at 2000km.

Aquagirl 1 your check engine light will not come on because of a low battery your charging light may come on, also if you do not make sure your gas cap is on tightly and correctly your check engine light will come on indicating an evaporative leak also if you fill it up with the engine running. Have the light turned off and drive for 200 miles or 8 hours whichever comes first to reboot your cars computer if the light comes back on you have what is called a hard code and have it diagnosed and then repaired. If you still have an evaporative leak code have the dealer put the smoke machine on it to determine the source. If your battery is marginal and will not keep a charge then the diodes in your alternater will fail and you will have to replace both

I gave this info to husband. He says it's more of a boing noise than a cracking sound of a cv joint. It's not rhymic noise but intermittent.

    Does this change your diagnosis?

    Thank you hambeak.
