I hope you do not think I am evil and mean and I must be destroyed. LOL

I am really into American Idol. The only reason I want Josh off the show is because he cannot sing well. He needs a lot of work. I don't think he worked hard to get on the show. He was lucky. If he worked hard he would have a better voice. He sings technically wrong. He can be entertaining but at this point I would only be entertqained by him if I were hearing him sing at a karaoke bar. That is the God's honest truth. He needs a voacal coach I am sure that would really make a difference for him.

I heard that people on the show who are not so great (talent-wise) were only chosen in the beginning of the competitions by the judges to create drama during the finals. The show wouldn't be as exciting if all the contestants were great singers.

Josh's time is up!!! He's got to go. He seems like a nice person and I think it is great he is in the Marines. But he knows as well as everyone else he doesn't belong there anymore. The other performers are far more talented. It is not fair to them if he stays.

It is not personal. He just doesn't deserve to be on the show. I am basing this on their talent only.

I will be 37 years old working part time raising two kids, a boy and girl, I hope. They should be between the ages of 1 and 5.

I agree that Britney Spears cannot sing and is selling sex with records but she is pretty hot. She has a great body, she has a cute face and personality. I wouldn't mind being her.

I cannot blame a guy for looking. I can't help but look to whenever I see a beautiful girl. Though 99% of the time I can find a flaw and you can bet I will point it out to my boyfriend. J ealousy is good that way.

I've yet to find Britney's flaw.

Did you ever have dreams about Armageddon ????

i remember having a few, jw scare tactics must have inbedded themselves into me.

i remember one.

i was downstairs in my front room when all of a sudden the ground started to rumble and the sky turned from pitch black to red.

The other night I had this dream that Armegeddon came in the form of water. Just like Noah's day. It seems like ever since Titanic (w/ D'Caprio) I always dream Armegeddon will come in the form of a flood.

In my dream too, God was not only saving JWs. All I had to do was survive the water and I would make it through. But it wasn't paradise I was trying to make it to. I was just trying to make it out alive. The world was still going to be imperfect but God was giving everyone a chance to start all over. He was only killing the truly evil people in the world.

I did survive but I woke up right after that. Funny how dreams are huh?

I don't let my dreams freak me out anymore.

one of the things i longed to do as a teen was attend a prom.

i dreamed of one of my jw "crushes" asking me, but it never happened.

but, i did have an old school acquaintance ask me in senior high.

I still think about him from time to time too. He never seemed to fit in. He moved by the middle of our junior year.

The funny thing is 2 months after I turned him down I started dating a "worldly boy". I was living the ultimate "double life". LOL I can finally look back and laugh at some of this ridiculous stuff. I always regretted not attending the prom with my "worldly" first love. The reason I didn't was because I had good JW friends at my school. I was afraid they would find out.

What is wrong with my family?

i love my family.

but i've been stressed and depressed because of them.

and i just need to gain some understanding.. being raised in a jw family laid alot of pressure and guilt on me.

Seriously though I really feel for you. I know how hard it can be standing up to your parents/family. It is something you must do though for your own peace of mind. Let them know that you are capable of making decisions for yourself. You are bound to make mistakes. Everyone does, young and old. Assure them that you know the trip can be dangerous but you plan on being cautious just as you are everywhere else you go. As others have said you can be victimized anywhere you go. Bad things just don't happen in NY.

I attended a Rape Awareness Meeting last week and one thing that stuck out in my mind was this:

90% of prevention of a violent crime such as rape is awareness. Keep this in mind all the time not just on your trip.

Be aware of your surroundings. Always look alert. Don't be afraid to make eye contact with a stranger in passing. This can deter an attacker for fear you can identify them after the fact. Avoid using your cell phone when you are walking about. There are many more prevention tips you may already be aware of. I have a list I will post them on hear later. I think they are important for everyone to know.

Anyways back to your question. I don't think your parents are crazy. Keep in mind they love you and worry about you. I am sure that will never change. Their tactics to keep you from becoming an adult are useless. When you finally stand up to them time and time again they should get this through their heads. Assure them that you love them and really appreciate their concern but you are an adult and you need to make your own choices in life.

From your Grandfather's eyes I can see why he said you are just a child. He has so much more life experience than you so try to give him honor despite his negative tactics to keep you from growing.

This doesn't mean you have to do what they say. From what you say it sounds like your family is over protective. You are 22 years old, granted that is still very young but it is old enough to make life-altering decisions.

I take it if you were pioneering or going to see Bethel your Grandfather and parents would describe you as a mature young woman with a good head on her shoulders. Take care and be safe. Have a great time in New York. "Give my regards to Broadway" LOL
