does true love exist?.

i'm a skeptic by nature, although not necessarily a very logical one.

i believe in love but i am not sure of the idea of one true love or soulmates.

I do not believe in Love at first site or soul mates either. I am too skeptical for that. I do believe in that there is more than one person for everyone.

I have been with my boyfriend 4 years now and I cannot imagine being with anyone else now. But it wasn't love at first site. It took time. Honestly I do not even know how we made it through the first year. I finally had to take a good look at our relationship and ask myself is this what I really want.

But with patience, work and commitment our relationship blossomed.

Now I know if I lost him I would be devastated but I wouldn't die. Him and I both know how to live with and without each other.

Secondly -- It really kind of annoys me to see homosexuals who want to bend the scriptures to make it appear as if Christianity and their sexual orientation are compatible. They are not, period -- choose one or the other.

A couple of my dearest friends are gay. But c'mon, how can you honestly use the bible to condone your homosexuality? The bible clearly says it is wrong.

You really do have to choose one or the other. I am not saying that you have to choose God vs. being gay but do not include the bible or Christianity in your worship.

I purchased a copy off of Amazon.com I believe. I know Barnes and Noble can order it for you if they do not have it in stock.

I have not finished reading it. I read the first three chapters but to tell you the truth, IMHO it is a little boring. But, I am sure I find it boring because I cannot even remember all the WT information. Even though I was raised in the "Org" I never really learned the doctrines in great depth.

Honestly I am just too lazy to research and compare Franz's information to all the mumbo jumbo written in the org's publications.

I do not feel guilty or scared anymore that I am not active in the "Org". If it were not for my family I would have DA'd myself. I realize that all religion does is play with your emotions.

I will eventually find the time and energy to really read and do some extensive research just so that if my family ever confronts me I will have a strong case to present about the hypocrisy of the "org".

when you preach to others, you encourage them to read the watchtower ect to gain knowledge about the bible, but wittnesses aren't supposed to read any other religious material.

i know this is because if they read it they might find the real truth, but how do wittnesses justify asking others to read material when they won't do the same themselves?

Here is the official WTS response. Basically, it is "we know we have the truth already and we aren't searching for something else."

If I had a dollar for every time I responded with that self-righteous bullshit response. This is something that always bothered me too.

Even though I was raised as a JW I often thought it was very hypocritical that I refused to read my friends religious material yet tried to shove mine down their throats.

Annoying Family Members

i get so tired of my family telling me to 'come back to the meetings" or "do you want to go to the meeting on sunday?".

i should not complain i know.

i do not have the guts to just say to them: "i am never going back.".

It annoys me when my mom tells me such things because she goes to 1 to 2 meetings a month and is considered inactive. She was DF'd when I was very young then reinstated when I was 11 years old. She has been out on field service maybe 5 times in the past 15 years.

Then I have my self-righteous sister trying to encourage me. The Gossip-Queen inviting me to meetings? Please.... Give me a freakin’ break!!

Why the F*%* do they bother? They are "weak" themselves and they are going to tell me Armageddon is just around the corner!!!

They must think that just being at the KH, even if only once or twice a month, God will have mercy on their pathetic souls.

How easily they weed out all the info about doing all you can in your service to Jah..........

Field Service, Ministry School, Not buying Lotto Tickets, Gambling in Vegas, Watching Rated R Movies, Studying the bible with your own children instead of passing off the responsibility to others in the KH, Worldly Associations, Spreading lies about your own sibling, I could go on and on...............
