  as i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.

  it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).

  Just Because I Am Brown...

  do not assume that i speak spanish.. it seems to that more and more latinos that i interact with on a daily basis assume that just because i have brown skin, i speak spanish.. end of rant.. edited to add: wouldn't this be akin to assuming that just because a person is african-american that he/she can sing, dance or play sports well?.

  I don't care if they assume I speak Spanish. I do get pissed though when they get upset because I don't speak Spanish.
  
  My Dad never taught us Spanish. He was born here but his first language was Spanish and he had a hard time in school being picked on by teachers and kids. So he was afraid to teach his kids Spanish worried we'd be picked on as well.
  
  Over the years I learned a lot being around Spanish-speaking people but I cannot speak it.

  I saw it last night but I'm not a very good critic when it comes to action movies. But I think Daniel Craig is pretty hot.
  
  I think i liked this one better than Casino Royal. But what do I know I think I had my eyes closed through 90% of the movie. LOL I can't handle watching graphic violence.
