FBF I was waiting to see if you would comment on that statement. You are a great lady and Paris is a beautiful city but I was in Las Vegas with my dream-girl. Sorry but she is all that! Mav

Las Vegas!
by Maverick inwhile i was traveling this past month, (25000 miles in five weeks), i flew to las vegas and spent the first week of july there with my favorite, and now only girlfriend.
what a great place!
we stayed at the luxor and hit every casino on the strip, saw shows, toured the hoover dam, rode all the rides, went clubbing every night until at least three am, and slept about ten hours in five days!

Hey onacruse how are you? I asked my girl if she wanted to do the ring-thing and she turned me down...for now. We have kids in college and all so the timing is not right. But we saw a lot of people doing that though.
I was surprised at how few people responded to the title. I always wanted to "do Vegas" but the way the ding-dong duds act about anything "fun" I guess I should not be too shocked at people not even looking at the topic. Sure are a lot of stick in the mud, pissed off types here. And this is one of the best ex JW sites on the web, Thanks to Simon!
Many people dumped the "dud do" but still got trapped in the "dud do nots"! People need to get going! Mav

Guess who is being spoken about.
by Maverick inthis information is taken from my daughters college philosophy text book, "the story of philosophy" by bryan magee; .
(this group) tended to regard their beliefs not just as personal opinions but as scientific knowledge, and therefore as "known" with absolute certainty.
this gave them enormous confidence and made them famously intolerant of all alternative views and opinions; and whenever they got into power they forbade the publication or teaching of any ideas that were incompatible with theirs.

This information is taken from my daughters college Philosophy text book, "The story of Philosophy" by Bryan Magee;
Since (this group) claimed to predict the furture developments of society with scientific accuracy, (their order) was believed to be "inevitable", and this meant that, (this group) were, so to speak, on the side of the future. What they believed in and wanted was going to happen regardless of what everybody else did or said. The whole world was going their way. As they liked to put it, "history is on our side," and their opponents were going to be consigned to the dustbin of history. They were living, not just in the present but in the future too, and before anyone else got there.
Guess who that group was......Marxism
I guess the governing body took the communist playbook and ran with it! Mav

The Organization That Didn't Like People
by metatron inonce upon a time, there was an organization that didn't like people.. now, that may sound like a paradox - a bit like yogi berra saying "nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded".. yet, paradox or not, it was true - although the key to maintaining to this contradiction is that the people in the organization.
never woke up to the summed reality of it all.
thus, the organization's leaders didn't like:.

Are JW's Really Free From Superstition?
by TD ina couple of years ago, my wife's younger brother was moving into his first home.
i've always made a point of being nice to her family, (and they to me as well) so cup of coffee in hand, i drove over there early on saturday to help.
moving is always hectic, even if it is someone else's move.

It is a tough call when dealing with someone's children. Once time, in the parking lot of a Mall, I was getting into my work truck and I heard someone by the back of the truck. It is a hugh truck and I can't see behind it so I got out and walked round to check. There was this ten year old boy sitting on my back bumper! Now mind you the truck was running! His mother was tying the shoe of some other younger boy and this kid just hopped up onto my bumper to wait. I told him, in my parent voice, to get off the bumper! His mother came unglued at me, telling me I had no right to talk to her boy that way. And she was correct, she was right there, I should have told her off and not the kid. Maybe you should have walked over to the group and showed them the food in your hair. People are not reasonable when you're dealing with their kids. Mav

Someone a while back gave us a rash of crap about spending all our time sitting at the computer and not living, so I've been out living it up for the whole lot of us. I figure it was the least I could do for the group. But hell that's the kind of guy I am. It'll take me about a month to recover. This living it up can kill ya if you're not careful! Mav

I love the Stargate series, and I did catch the petty, self-righteous, style of the bad guys. They must banish the most incompetent Goa'uld to be the JW's governing body members! Mav

Grew up watching the Sox! I have season ticket to the Devil Rays, but I don't go to many games, except the Red Soxs! My girl is a die-hard Yankees fan. I have a t-shirt that says I love New York, it's the Yankees I hate! Drives her nuts when I wear it to Yankees games. And there are some this week! Mav

Funny thing about those elevators, never could stand at the correct angle. Everytime we got in one we pitched over to one side. Late at night, or early in the morning, we would start laughing when we got on and hit the wall! Saw Danny Gans, definitely worth the hundred bucks a seat! Not much of a gambler, spent less than $50, sucker's bet as far as I'm concerned. Danced, (yes I was a ballroom dancer), up a storm and really surprised my girl! Only thing I did not like was the hawkers out on the strip trying to hand you porno cards or the street pitchman trying to grab you to work some deal with you. I hate the hard sell and it ticked me off. My girl would just laugh at them and make jokes. After a while when they would ask me where we were from I would reply, "Mars, it's been on the news, where have you guys been?" They would just wave us on after that! Did the rides on top of the Stratoshere; Bigshot and Xscreem were very cool! Mav
