Things as simple as the first time you see your girlfriend topless to the first time you see the Southern Cross from a friends back yard in the black of an Australian night... these are the things worth living for! Dear Blondie: Fine job! Every word of your experiences were true in my case as well! I travel a lot, three and a half months out of the last twelve, and the Witnesses were very cold and judgmental wherever I went! As a business person I have learned to watch what they do and not what they say. And the J-dud Masters are so full of S--T it is laughable. The mental gymnastics one has to go through to buy their happy crap is bewildering! They truly do not see the glaring hypocrisy that is their lives in WatchTowerdom. Maverick
i still live with my parents and they are both jw's.
when the co does his visit, the house has an uncomfortable quiteness about it for a week or so, nobody talks as much, my mother acts more stranger than usual and trys to put on a fake personality.
is this just my experience or does it happen to anyone else?
Dear be wise: I sat in on 32 Elders and Servants meeting with the CO. That whole week was always the phoney holy week at the Hall! People who hardly spoke to each other would hug and coo and act all loving to impress the CO! It may me want to hurl! The Elders meetings were no different, (except for the prayer and scriptures), than the payroll and production planning meetings I sat in on when I was the Art Director of this publishing company in So. Calif. Some Servants would suck up to the CO, some were terrified and sat mute, some had a personal agenda that they wanted to promote and end-run the local Elders, which always pissed them off! Very little of any real spiritual information was ever discussed. It was all Organizational. Remember the CO is a corporate inspector who's job is to make sure corporate policy is followed to the letter and that headquarters get there 'cut' ! So to answer your question, "It is not you, what you are seeing is what we all were seeing". Maverick

After I came back for Down Under this Jan. I gathered up all my J-dud literature except my indexes, Bound volumes, Insight and Aid Books. These I wanted to use for references. I took the rest out to the dumpster behind my office and filled the thing! When I told my 18 year old daughter what I did she added all of her literature to mine! Boy it felt good! I reasoned that if I gave it back they might just give it to some study and poison their mind.
I remember on more than one occasion finding boxes of literature in the parking lot or stacked against the Kingdumb Hall door! What have you done with your literature? Maverick
I have two bags, one for meetings, somewhat bigger and a sleet thin one for service. I always kept my bags clean and shinny and conditioned like my saddle and my foot gear. A lot of people let their bags get all beat up like this was a sign of how 'spiritual' they where! Some brothers would bring these big square bags to the meeting as a sign saying'"I'm an Elder!" It reminds me of the Pharisees with their large scripture containing cases! Anybody want mine, there are gathering dust in my hall closet? Maverick

I was 28 and my 'bride' was 18. Many of the sisters gave her a lot of crap for marrying me. But we both believed 'what is ten years when compared to a thousand years'. Fifteen years later she gain over one hundred pounds and was doing the things she never got to do as a youth in the J-dud world. And we looked the same age! I felt like my oldest daughter had run amok! Would I marry a young girl again? Not very likely! I'm done with the Pygmalion thing. The rule of thumb today is get with someone who has LESS problems than you do! And my ex cost me an early retirement. Maverick

having visited dozens of kh's over the years, i can indeed confirm that they all have the same smell about them imho.. it's not very nice either, perhaps even a little sinister is the odour that emanates from most of them.. i wonder what it is that get's up my nose so?.
