  Poll: Please Help with my Research....

  since everyone (from the dixie chicks to newsense) seems to agree that the usa is the worst country on earth (perhaps "the great beast" even?

  ) and the usa does not "do" enough to help everyone else on earth, a short poll: .

  1. what country is the best on earth today...ie: no taxes, free everything, no military, no enemies, no borders, free food, no crime, no locks on anything, no politicians, etc.

  Best country to live in? That depends on how much money a person has. Generally the country the US President is from, so that would be Texas. They never got over that Lone Star State thing. And Bush will always take care of 'Home".

  Changes? Change 'rules of evidence' law to be more like the UK. Change the lawsuit regs. Make all health care costs tax deductible. Do away with Welfare and make those lazy bums work, remember the CCC and the WPA. Take control of drug distribution and ruin the drug loards power base..money.

  Make child wellness, education, and protection a major priority. Make sure teachers and police are the best trained and paid on earth. It could be paid for by adding a Laywer Tax. Lawyers have to pay more for everything, after all they get a peice of every deal done in the country.

  By not working for lawyers,ever! No lawyers or psychologists and psychiatrists. And I give police officers and teachers a discount for my services. Maverick

  The sad part about this 'problem' in Iraq is the WatchTower duds will be ever more vigilant and manic to push their drivel. The Governing Body will be standing on the tables at Bethel, jumping up and down, crying '"We told you so, the end is near!" And they will prey on the superstitious fears of the membership. You can be sure the writing dept. is working overtime to weave these events into some past WatchTower article as proof of the GB's exalted position as God's earthly channel. No manner what the outcome of the campaign in Iraq the GB will claim they knew it from their understanding of God's Word! Maverick

  Does this frustrate you

  being here almost everyday, we get to know each other and often friendships start from this forum.

  we get to know who we like and dislike.

  some friendships here are better than in actual life.. does it frustrate you to know that 99% of the people here, you will never see?.

  Why don't those old farts on the Governing Body just stick to printing Bible misinformation and stay away from playing God. It was never their place to judge anybody. If they want to criticize anyone they should just take a good look in the mirror! They are unqualified and so are their subordinates! Maverick

  i need some advice!!

  my old best friend in the truth is talking to me again, and it bothers me.

  she was really mean to me when i was dfed and now she started to talk to me again because she misses me, but i feel bad cuz obviously im dfed and although i don't feel like i'm spiritually bad for what i am, i cannot be myself around her because i feel odd.. its like the last attachment to that bastard religion keeps hanging on!

  Get a copy of CoC and have it on your desk. Tell this friend it was written by a retired member of the Governing Body and it is very enlightening as to how policy is handed down from headquarters.Use their own methodology on this person. When you were a new convert and old worldly friends hung around, you were told to try to convert them! If they took great, if not they would leave you alone! Maverick

  What Would You Say If Someone Expressed Interest In Being A JW???

  if someone told you that they thought the witnesses seemed like good people and that they were thinking of having a bible study with them, would you try to persuade them not to?

  would you just keep quiet, hoping they would see things for themselves?.......if you are still a witness (technically), would you subtlely or overtly tell them to run??

  I would tell them about this great book written by a 'retired' member of the Governing Body called Crisis of Conscience. I have a number of copies and would gladly lend them one. I would tell them that it is written for the baptized membership and that they would be told of it after they were baptized. But I always thought that people were adult enought to understand it before they got baptized. I would tell the person to read it and not tell their study conductor because he will want them to wait and read it as a JW and not before. I will guarantee them that they will be glad they read it and thank me later.

  If that didn't work I would tell them to ask their study conductor this question, " If I become a member(baptized) and decide I want out how can I do that and what happens to ex members?" I will explain that the conductor will dodge the question and tell this person that he will never want to leave and get God's disapproval. I would impress upon this person that they should persist and get a straight answer out of the conductor. Maverick

  false accusations are more than just silly, they are ugly and malicious.

  These, (false accusations) are like gossip. They are an infection which even if properly treated leave scars. They are easy to start and hard to stop and people are quick to add to them and give them new life. I have even seen it here, on this board.

  The J-dud masters thrive on a climate of fear and spying and gossip. If you hear something do not pass it on and be cautious about passing judgment. If you can talk in private to the subject of such accusation do so. As for the lies stated about you, (or me) one of lifes lessons is sometimes you have to eat it. People believe what they want and you can't change that. Be true to yourself and let the rest go! Maverick
