Friendly fire?...Don't the Yanks ever learn?
by searchfothetruth inthe british forces are under double pressure as they not only have to be aware of attacks from the iraqi's but they have to keep one eye on their american friends.. during the last gulf war, the americans inflicted more casualties on the coalition forces than the iraqi's did.. friendly fire seems to be limited to the americans.
you never hear of the royal marines accidentally shooting up a car of journalists or blowing an american plane out of the sky.... but, what am i saying, the americans have a president that has attacked another nation without just cause... so thats where they get it from.. watch out boys!...the americans are about.
take cover.

In spite of their advanced training most of the forces are very young. And I mean no disrespect to their youth, but these kids do get excited. During the conflict in Southeast Asia a lot of the groung pounders would not call in air support because they were more afraid of being 'smoked' by the sky jockeys than the VC!
Friendly fire is always a real and constant danger. Even in war games troops get injured and killed. The shear numbers and complexities of deployment guarantee snafu's. And the rivalries between coalition forces has to be addressed. Not sharing up to date intellegence on troop deployments or delays in execution of orders can put friendlys in the 'box'.
We 'yanks' are deeply saddened when our brothers-in-arms are hurt or killed by our actions. We tend to be the ones making these errors because we have, by far, the most men, women, and hardware in the 'vone'. Conversely, should this 'action' go south and get ugly we stand to lose the most. Maverick

Too funny! The sad thing is he has been trained to see worldly people as basically dumb and blind. He's taught that you need him to tell you there are problems in the world. I was a graphic artist for two big city newspapers, (one in Fla. and one in LA) and was always well read on current events. I could hardly carry on any kind to informed, intellegent conversation with a Dud because their only news sources were the five minutes a day of hard new on the TV and the Awake mags! None of them ever read a book or talk to educated folks. I hung around the writers and reporters and pick their brains all the time. The J-dud are living in an information vacuum. Maverick

Are You Afraid Of Watchtower Spies, Here?
by minimus indo you think that some in our midst are watchtower spies?
-
Maverick
I am confused. I thought every active and good J-dud was a WatchTower spy? Even their family members are taught to keep an eye on one another. To rat each other out is to show love and loyalty to their god-like organization. As for this site, are not all welcome? It is not too hard to find the Duds here. They just can't help themselves! They're kinda cyber voyeurs. Maverick

JWs Advertising on TV now
by eisenstein inwe were just watching er rerun episodes back to back...after the second episode finished chachasmum and i saw an advertisement for the jws.
it started out showing a teenage girl on the computer like she was in a chat room...and it was showing her write love notes to someone whom she thought might be a teenage boy...and a voice over said something like...parents protect your children...then it showed an old, fat man with a bottle of beer, sitting back typing on the computer...then all of a sudden it said, "teach your children knowledge, wisdom and thinking ability"...it caught my ear and i looked closer at the bottom of the screen it read: christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses...and gave a 1-800 number.
looks like they are stealing the mormons' pitch.

In WatchTower speak 'thinking ability' translates into giving the J-dud masters the ability to do your thinking for you! Maverick

Is it bad?
by Elsewhere in.
i remember when i was a jw how everyone was constantly wondering whether certain things were bad or demonic or generally unacceptable to a true christian(tm).. it seems like they are completely obsessed with things like that... like the luau that minimus brought up in another thread or the smurfs.. when you were a jw, what were some of the "critical" things that everyone was obsessed with?.

I love this site, y-all bring up things I had forgotten about. I overlooked what a supertitious, terrified bunch the J-duds are. It is almost medieval. I never had demon problems until AFTER I started studying with the J-duds! And I do not have any problems with them now. The J-duds use the word 'Jehovah' like some kind of good luck charm. What a sorry state of fear and ignorance they live in. Some may reason that the demons don't want you to study with the J-duds and that is why they attack. I say just the opposite! They scare people right into the Organization. It serves them well. Its purpose is to screw-up as many honest hearted, spiritual minded people as possible. And the demon loving Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses are masters to that end! Maverick

WTS Subtle-Speak
by onacruse inwts publications are riddled with subtle innuendos, subliminal messages, and bait & switch.
i just randomly grabbed the 4/1/03 issue of the watchtower, confident that i would find examples; i was not disappointed.
the article "exhibit 'all mildness toward all men' " discusses titus 3:1, 2 in four areas--in the family, in the ministry, in the congregation, and toward all men.

Very good 'read' on this WT spin doctors. Even the tenor paints positive or negative shades. Words like 'creep' and 'wrangling' imply negatives as do the judgmental nature of 'erring ones' and 'saddened brothers'. Have you ever sat in an Elders meeting when two brothers had a difference of opinion or just did not like each other? And throw in any scripture that even contains a few of the words of any point you are trying to sell and the J-duds make it fit. After-all the FDS applied it there, it MUST be right! Keep up the good work, Maverick.

RUMOR ABOUT ME FLOATING AROUND THE HALL : (
by MoeJoJoJo ini cannot tell you how angry i am right now.
the rumor is that i was pregnant before my husband and i were married.
we were both witnesses and were married at the hall.

This reminds me of when I wrote a letter to the CO telling him about the problem of gossip at my Hall. I did not name names but it would not have been to hard for him to investigate and see for himself. He wrote me back and said he would not turn in my letter to Brooklyn and would check on things when he came back to my Hall...in five months! What happened...nothing. I realized gossip is an important tool used by the J-dud masters to discredit and unofficailly punish anyone they want.
Knowing this, when I wanted out I sent the Baptism Nullification letter to everyone I could, except the PO and the CO. They had a hell of a time containing that salvo! I still send letters here and there just to stir them up a little. This 'channel' is vital to their control over the flock. It is a two edged sword though, and I say swing away! Maverick

Something cool happened...
by flower ini had the surprise of my life yesterday when i got home from work and played the message on my machine.
it was one of my five brothers.
all of whom i havent spoken to but a handful of times over the years.

Dear Flower: It was nice of you to share your experience. I have seven brothers and sisters and two are Witnesses. The non-witness members are at a loss to understand what the problem is with the two! After I came to my senses the non-w's have been asking me to explain what is going on. I wish you the best, and much success with your brother! Maverick

Did I turn my back on Jehovah's True Organization?
by sandy ini was wondering as i have been lately; did i turn my back on god and am i wrong for turning my back on the organization?.
are there any of you out there that feel like you have a real personal relationship with god with or without religion in your life?
do you still call god jehovah?

The very fact you are aware enough to even ask these types of thought provoking questions is a good sign. I am not comfortable using Gods name like a good luck charm as the J-duds do. For years I had a hard time reconciling the actions of the J-dud masters and the God they claimed to represent. You will get more honest hearted people here than in all of dudland! Only you can build a relationship with the True God. We, collectively can help with the WT deprogramming and when your heart is clear so will your mind. Then you will 'know' what you need to about who or what God is. May you have peace, Maverick
