Are JW's selfish?
by JH inwhen i joined the jw, the brother who gave me a bible study said how nice it would be in the new system.
he described how nobody would be sick, how wars would cease, people would stop dying, and would resurrect.
he described how life would be so wonderful.

Did YOU Ever Think That YOU Would Be Talking Against The "Truth"?
by minimus inbeing raised as a witness, i don't think that i ever thought i would speak against the organization of jehovah's witnesses.

No, and I still don't. It ain't the truth, it's BS, all of it and that whole bunch is full of crap. So I am IN the truth. Maverick

Submitting a DA letter and walking away?
by Jourles ini have been perusing through the many boe documents i have recently received and noticed something interesting.
regarding ones who disassociate themselves, there have been many discussions on this board where people tell others not write a letter as you are giving away any legal footing you may have against the society.
well, it appears that there are two routes you can take without officially getting da'd, according to the society's own documents.

My Baptism Nullification letter came right out and said, "This is not a letter of disassociation." I never met with them and left a message on the PO voice mail, (after he left a message on my voice mail wanting me to meet him) telling him he was a retired grocery clerk and had no spiritual authority over me. I then sent a copie of my BN letter to the CO with a note on it telling him he was just a corporate inspector and I asked him if he had ever had a real job? I sent out many copies of my BN letter to J-duds I knew everywhere. The result. My spies told me the PO wanted to DF me for apostacy in the worst way but the CO said to change my status to that of an unbaptized publisher and DA me. Which they did, I have a digital recording of the announcement. Took them six weeks to do all this.
The morning after the PO made the announcement I sent a letter to him calling him a liar, a coward and demanding a retraction as I did not DA myself. I told him he was no better than the Governingbodygod he worshipped. Needless to say they had the "Beware of people who DA themselves, as they are Big Bad Apostates!!! talk the following Sunday.
This last week I downloaded the NGO letters posted here and sent copies Monday morning to all the JW gossip mongers I knew and put this PO's return address on them. My spies told me they had an Elders meeting Wed. night that was very heated. I'm not done yet! Maverick

Fragments of "Light"
by refiners fire inits a shame that one has to wade through 300 pages of boring twaddle to find a few pearls.
but then...you have me to do the wading!
some observations on the book light (volume 2/1930)

I guess it is to the WatchTowers advantage that older and/or more intelligent Witnesses get fed-up with the J-dud crap and leave. This way they can rewite their history every ten or fifteen years and no active dud this the wiser. I love how they weave in their mind numbing District Conventions as part of fulfilling Bible prophesy. Great researce y-all, keep it coming. Maverick

The JW Child

Thank y-all for sharing the pain you went through. My daughter has told me of similar feelings she had when with the J-duds. After her mother left I had to deal with a suicidal 13 year-old. Took about three years to get her past thoughs feelings. I suffered depression, but I was an adult. I can not imagine going through all that crap as a kid. Thanks for the insight. Maverick

Hello....
by Anne ini've been lurking in this site for about a week now.
i didn't know something like this existed or else i may have come sooner.
i'm a bit selfish for making this my first post, but i'd like to introduce myself and get some feedback if possible.. my parent's became jehovah's witnesses when i was eight years old, so i was for the most part "raised in the truth".

It's not Enough to "Leave the Truth"
by metatron inof all the damage done by years of warped watchtower teachings, one point stands out:.
the degradation - or complete removal - of critical thinking ability.. while many wrongs exist, it would be hard to find any other that generates such a continuing pattern of needless suffering.
as the inability to reason critically.

Some very good points brought out here. A person has to actively deprogram after getting free of the WatchTower poison.
As for the inherent unhappiness of the sisters, they are easly pickings for a rogue like me. I am the badboy daddy warned them about, (and they listened to him them). They are older and wiser and they are not listening to them,(the elders) now! Maverick

lonliness, doormats and making friends
by SpiceItUp inhad a conversation today about how when people leave the dubs, or make any other major life decisions, that you end up being lonely.
all your "friends that you used to have are no longer there and you have to start afresh.
i remember when i was younger, right when i quit the meetings, i would do anything just to make people like me.

As you think, so shall you become. But to thwine own self be true. Know who you are first, (this is impossible as an active J-dud), learn to be comfortable with this person and others will be comfortable with you too. Maverick

Hey DFWnonJW we must be brothers, I got 80 too. They say two heads are better than one! Maverick
PS, I checked out again and realised there was a data field at the bottom I did not see this morning and it changed my score by ten points. I guess they figure a guy 48 should be slowing down or something. Nobody told me.
